Best 3 places to eat in Hua Hin
Re: Best 3 places to eat in Hua Hin
My favourite three places for Thai food.
1. Seaside - as already mentioned.
2. You Yen. Along the road that runs north from the clocktower between Petchkasem and the sea, and which comes to a dead end at Klai Kangwon Palace. Not cheap but a wonderful seaside ambience.
3. Place by the sea at Khao Tao. Turn off Petchkasem, cross the railway (careful) and keep left. A fair way out for dinner but a great place for lunch. Own transport recommended but not essential (Pranburi bus and motor-cycle taxi will get you there).

Don't let the name put you off but me and the wife thought the food in the Casa Blanca was very good.
It's near enough next door to the Intercontinental Hotel.

There is a famous Thai restaurant run by a family (can't remember its name). It is on the right, just at the start of the Pala-U road, opposite the school. It looks terrible, with school dinner style tables and chairs. It is always busy with Thai's and very few farangs but it is great value and great food. We always have the chicken cashew nuts, tom yam gung and yellow curry crab. My favourite Thai restaurant in my 18 years of living here. They have a picture on their wall of when one of the princesses visited for a meal!

By the way JW, my old man assures me Rom Mai do a decent Fish and Chips for about 100 baht, not an evening meal belly full at that price but a good afternoon snack.JW wrote:Rom Mai in Takieb, just after Ciccada market, always great food
I'm sure you'll report back.

You're obviously not used to this, you know, with it being the local currency.

I have to disagree there. I have been there before and found their steak to be a bit tough.grgfgfgdggfggrgfgfgdggfggrgfgfgdggfggrgfgfgdggfggrgfgfgdggfggrgfgfgdggfggrgfgfgdggfggrgfgfgdggfggrgfgfgdggfggrgfgfgdg

Mixed thai and seafood for lunch: Go to the beach where the Springfield@sea resort is located. You will see many tables set on the beach with "sunbrellas" stuck together as a roof.
The tex-mex combo plates at Terrace 90 are great.
Wish I knew a steak place but I just cant believe anything can be better than Norbus in Rawai, Phuket.
