For me these 4 door body styles are made a lot more useful with the addition of a canopy.
If it is a factory liner then why is it that the tie downs are no longer used? :?
Looking at and reading those photos again it would appear that the liner and "bed rail cover" are two seperate items. The rail covers are just added if you want them. :?

Perhaps I caused some unintentional confusion by omitting something when I posted the photos. If you go back to the Ford accessory site, there is a place for a photo of a different type bed liner, but there is no photo. I didn't post that. Perhaps that one has the built in rail lip? It may be of benefit BB to get a ride up to a larger Ford dealer, maybe in Petchaburi, to actually look at these accessories and perhaps Rangers in stock where they're already fitted?

You may be right Nereus about factory liners/lashing cleats. Back when I bought my Tigers, I don't think Toyota offered liners so both of mine were sourced elsewhere. Pete

EDIT: I just went back to the Ford site. Indeed the bedliner with no photo is named "Overrail bedliner". If this is the one they're giving you BB, no need for the rail cover.

Hmmm. My sister-in-law is a car salesperson. Years ago she got herself a laptop and would make copies on her hard drive of all the accessories available for each particular model (She has an iPad now). She then went on to try and give 'her' customers good sales and after-sales service. I have been called on occasion to translate (from Thai to English) so her customers would know exactly what they were getting. It's no wonder then that she gets repeat business from them (they would ask specifically for her). Repeat business means repeat commissions, doesn't it?

No, she's not in HH, and she does not sell Fords. :)

Nereus, do you have a link, photo or drawing that shows a ramp as you mention above? Don't do a lot of searching, just if you have something handy. Thanks. Pete

My Ford Ranger arrived last week that's a wait of nine weeks not the original wait time of twelve to thirteen for black colour. Black being the longest wait time. Very pleased with the pick up my only gripe being the handbook in Thai. My previous car was a Honda and no problem with an English handbook. You would think Ford would issue in English bearing in mind they export most of their pick ups to Australia. At the showroom you just get cannot no have. I have contacted Ford customer service with no response as yet.

Is it the same as the Ford Ranger sold in the US? If so there is a handbook available online here:

I DO admire your patience BB, but I guess losing your rag with them BEFORE your truck even arrives would not be good for future realings with them.

But they ARE a 'Toss of Bunchers' at HH Ford..When I go the staff are all nicey-nicey, yet very good at not understanding you..even when you take along your Thai wife.. :banghead:

My passenger-side electric window stopped working..booked-in, duly arrived there..never any room to park..waited an hour inside to be told the window-motor had packed up and it would be 2500B for new one fitting..ouch.
Told them I'd get back to them on it...found my pick-up covered in greasy finger-marks, the footwell was covered in bits of bared wire.. :tsk: I thought Oh F.F.S.

Rang the previous owner of my car. She told me a 'window-motor' should be no more than 700B
(fitted). Popped into the garage/car-repair place leaving town on the Pala-U Rd..less than half hour later the window switches are doing their job, & the man would not accept 200B for his work!
All he'd done was 'pop' the door skin/liner, & re-inserted the main wire plug/connector.

This man will be doing all it's servicing now, and if I DO need work done at the Ford dealer I will consider going to the one below Pranburi.

On a more positive note, IF you DO need a canopy, bed-lid, nudge-bar, window tint etc fitting ,then the place on your left, heading Northbound just after the Shell garage (opp. 'Hua Hin Bike' cycle shop) do a good professional job.

Unfortunately, I have very little choice but to be patient. Ford were offering the best lead time of all the dealers.

Regarding workmanship, I never had any time for main dealers in the UK, and it sounds as if it will be the same in Thailand. Certainly in the UK, any mechanic worth his salt was working for himself - dealerships left the work to young apprentices. However, they charge top dollar for everything you ask them to do.

As Ford reckon they don't do a nudge bar (even though every publicity shot shows one), your recommendation will be put to good use - thank you.
