I think those stats are meaningless without an understanding of the bigger picture. As RDM took over, we had managed a draw in the FA Cup against Birmingham and were trailing 3-1 to Napoli in the Champions League and we were at our lowest ebb.
He then had to deal with the club playing every weekend / midweek through to the end of the season, whilst overcoming serious injury problems, especially in defence, where the loss of Alex (and Anelka) through the petulant, immature management of AVB was really felt
He got the best out of fringe players and oversaw the turnaround in form of Torres.
As for next season, well it won't be easy for him, but here's to wishing him well!
