Nip & Tuck

Post by MrPlum »

You look in the mirror and start to see age taking its toll. Bags under the eyes, skin like orange peel, turkey wattle under the chin, or a double chin. Or maybe you don't like your nose or your boobs.

Cosmetic surgery is affordable and common here. Have you undergone surgery or are you planning to?

No way

I plan to grow old gracefully  If I keep wrinkling and shrinking I'll need a smaller and therefore cheaper urn  Maybe even get me into a snuff box

No need. God took care of that for me. As I get older, my eyesight gets worse. I can't see the wrinkles.

I've got more saggy bits than most, and am quite likely to get quite a few more. However, I don't think I could contemplate such surgery. I'm an old, happily married man, and my wife is happy with what she's got. Why would I want to contemplate the pain?

To be honest, I don't personally know of any man who has had plastic surgery, surely it's not common in todays world is it?

It is pretty common here in southern California

But not for me, although the knees and shoulder will need spare parts soon

Sorry SG, but I'd bet it's a lot more common today than 50 years ago, when men were men and using garden rails as tooth picks was common!! After all, aren't we all encouraged to get in touch with our female side these days and I'm not talking about the 'bit on the side' either

BB I'm a (relatively :? ) old happily married man also, but 'er indoors reckons I'd give Barry Humphries a run for his money when it comes to the travelling trunks under the eyes and has suggested more than once that I should go under the knife, but having taken her advise previously ( ) with respect to hair dye to get rid of the grey, with bloody disasterous consequences, I think I'll keep my own council on this one :run:

I honour statistics but only six people responding doesn't represent anything vital, especially not in this area and forum. Probably very biased.
For balancing the data one need to know some respondent background parameters like gender, age, belly circumference, income, age/nationality of partner, hours of looking at fotball/week, consumption of beer/week, hours of physical training/w, degree of homophobia, of awareness of changes in (not only) the Western Hemisphere the last decades. And not least; what's the name of your favourite after shave?

Allright, beauty comes from the inside but . . .

How do one respond to these questionaires? The world may look better with more repondants.

Favourite after shave is Kouros.

Are we just talking about men then? I'd have some creases ironed out if I could afford it for sure. Nothing major - just tweaking.
And I do think it's more common than we maybe imagine amongst men these days too. The problem is that tweaks - surgical or whatever, when done well shouldn't be too obvious.
It doesn't have to be surgery or lasering etc though. Many men clearly have spray tans. Waxing is common for both sexes now. A friends daughter here in the UK does nose, anal, plus wherever else waxing for both sexes regularly.
Hair - another common 'man' thing. Good example at the mo is Engelburt Humperdink who, as soon as he was chosen for the dreaded Eurovision song contest, suddenly appeared with brown hair again. And why not?
What I do have a problem with is women who go for mega private boob jobs, then expect the NHS to pay for replacements when their implants are found to be defective.
A sprout is for life - not just for Christmas.
