I’m so confused!
Manchester City, Manchester United and the 3rd placed team in the Premier League will enter the Champions League in the group stage* next season.
The 5th placed team in the Premier League will enter the Europa League in the play-off round next season.
Liverpool will enter the Europa League in the 3rd qualifying round next season.
IF BAYERN WIN - then.......
The 4th placed team in the Premier League will enter the Champions League in the play-off round next season.
IF CHELSKI WIN - then......
Chelsea will enter the Champions’ League in the group stage next season.
The 4th placed team in the Premier League will take Chelsea’s FA Cup European qualifying spot and will enter the Europa League next season.
However it’s not yet clear whether they will take the same spot in UEFA’s Access List and start in the Group Stage or whether this honour will pass to the domestic Cup winner of another country and whether the 4th placed team have to start in the play-off round instead. UEFA will confirm this were this scenario to happen.
The 3rd placed team in the Premier League will enter the Champions League in the group stage* next season.
* It is not yet fully established whether 3rd place will secure a group stage seeding or have to play a qualifying round, should Chelsea win the Champions League.
SIMPLE INNIT ???????????????????
Maybe all this shite was determined in Brussels by the EU Commission - wouldn't be surprised

For UEFA that's pretty clearTerry wrote: The 3rd placed team in the Premier League will enter the Champions League in the group stage* next season.

I expect they're in a bunker somewhere trying to cobble up a solution.
My guess would be 3rd place then faces a qualifier, which will open a new can of worms

I didn't think Chelsk had much of a realistic chance in the final because of all the injuries & particularly the suspensions.
Having seen Bayern get dicked 5-2 by Dortmund in the German cup final on Saturday, i'm not so sure now.
They will be getting my support 100% anyway.
Firstly because they are representing the English PL & secondly . . . . well i expect you can guess that reason

Re: Champions League 2011 - 2012
Ahh but you didn't realise all the players were only playing at 50% and backing out of all challenges for fear of getting injured for the big one. (please let that be the case)Having seen Bayern get dicked 5-2 by Dortmund in the German cup final on Saturday, i'm not so sure now.
Though I was gonna be supporting the British and rooting for Chelsea (just as I did for the Barcelona tie) I'm afraid to say, with a little sprinkle of embarrassment...

If any of you are around town in the evening you'll spot me suited and booted for the evening's game....

Cheers

Avram Grant has said that "JT" altered the order so he took what was supposed to be the winning pen against United.
Why does that not surprise me?

Anyone know if it is on cable tv given the late k.o. I presume most bars will be closed already?

It was being advertised for Channel 7 yesterday. If that doesn't work, I've found in the past that you just flick the channels, and you'll find it somewhere - sometimes even with English commentary.

Re: Champions League 2011 - 2012
Yes I believe John Terry would change the order so he could take what he thought was going to be the winner. Unfortunately for him we all remember him crying instead.

Re: Champions League 2011 - 2012
I am going for Bayern a much better team than Chelsea.
Yes l know l should support the English team but Drogba will fall all over the floor tripping on every long blade of grass and say..."Foul ref" and holding his crouch.
Only pleased that prat JT is out, but it will make me wild if Chelsea win and that prat is seen holding the cup on TV.
A good puke is in order if so.
Bayern for me.
