They can be very scary indeed when they 'go off on one' - and the next day can be as right as rain.
The best thing any farang male with a Thai wife could do would be to make HRT available to his better half. Problem solved.

The Thais call it 'Wai tong' (วัยท้อง) literally transliterated as 'aged stomach'. 'Tong' (stomach, belly) can also indicate a state of pregnancy.
I've seen my sister 'go off on one'. Scary. I'll also assume 'HRT' means 'hormone replacement therapy'? Not sure if it works. I substitute it with *HFTH if I sense the volatility brewing at home. So do some of my Thai friends.

Interesting! My Thai wife and I have been together nearly 12 years, and married for 10. In all my previous relationships I'd quietly admired the stoicism of my partner in dealing with the monthly demons, and I have to say that my Thai wife is the only one who's ever complained. (Boy! Does she complain!) I guess I'd never factored in the "mai pen rai" attitude that forms the backbone of Thai culture, leaving each women painfully alone at that time of the month. I'll take on board the comments I've read on this thread, and see if I can make a bit more sense of what she says and does. BTW, if I wake up with a meat cleaver in my chest, I'll hold all other posters here responsible

Personally I don't know what all the fuss is about regarding Thai females, you guys have obviously been out of any sort of relationship with a farang woman for far too long, as I have exactly the same issues with my Scottish partner (now wife) of 20 years standing :naughty:

This applies to all women. Firstly there is no understanding each other..... but there is a simple answer. NEVER MARRY. Haven't any of you figured this out yet? I would think with all the divorcees probably here that you would have.

Its amazing you can date for years and years and when that psycho time hits they know how to manage and control it. I have known women that you never even knew and their behavior was sooo alluring. Typically they know if they do the "anti christ, spin their head around dealio" they stand a chance of losing you or you saying GTFO here. HOWEVER once you say "I DO" they know its game over and you can do piss all about it. Men do not marry, women do. Men surrender... Its not about security, its about "securing control".

You find quickly after your honeymoon that you now add sentences to your vocab of "Yes dear" or "I'm Sorry"(Saying this having done nothing wrong but do not want to go rounds with her)or you KHA(kiss her ass) to avoid her taking it to the next level with threats or using sex as a weapon.:D. You can kiss most of your friends good bye and those nights out with the guys that she so graciously encouraged you to do, are now a bone of contention and you feel guilty even asking.

I have personally witnessed what appeared to be stellar dating relationships go belly up within 5 years after marriage and when I asked what happened they usually say "Man did she change". I can only laugh. There seems to be some hidden fine print in the marriage license we all missed.

Sad part is what did it really cost you to go from dating to marriage.......answer; HALF!!!!....

HRT might not be the best solution since there's a lot of concern about the link between estrogen and breast cancer. I'm no doctor, but have read about this a few times before.

SEX......now I know that's something I should be aware of and I'm pretty sure it's something that I did participate in sometime back, but for the life of me it's such a long time ago that I can't quite recall what it's all about........

Are you to a point in your life that you can take sex or leave it? Then I understand.

Personally I am nowhere near it and that game is something I will simply not accept. Be mad, Be irritated but holding that carrot out there hoping I will KHA so I can get back into her good graces...Not gonna happen......the curb is very easy to toss their stuff... :thumb:

One thing I've learn't recently (and maybe to my cost or relief) is that above gold, houses, SUV's and motorbikes many Thai women, especially from Isaan villages want a farang child. I've been told it means a status upgrade and more security if the farang is more than a casual partner.

I've even heard of women that have asked a casual acquaintance to give them a child. I know of at least 2 BG's that have used a farang to give them a child and when delivered and under care by the family do not tell the farang.

I have heard of this too. And there are some rumors. 1) They think with a Farang child they can angle a way out of the country 2) Trap the Farang 3) They think ALL Farang Thai mixed children will all be Lakorn stars and make them millions. Just watch "Thais got Talent" or the Thai Celeb crap.

Its all quite laughable...Simple minds think simple things.

If you hear of anymore, please send them my way. :D I'd be more than happy to help, but whenever I offer, I just get sheepish smiles. :thumb:

I am not sure what you are getting at here Richard. You will need to elaborate. I have been asked on numerous occasions(with my GF present) "When are you going to have a baby". "It will be Suay mak mak" and could be a star".....I still stand, simple minds..albeit capitalistic...but simple.
