Good Tailor?

Post by Sparky »

Hi,

I have a shirt that I want to get copied. I am looking for a tailor that will deliver a really good quality product. I'm not looking for a cheap deal. Any suggestions?

Cheers

Ok,

Let's try again. Does anyone know any tailors that I should avoid?

Cheers

You have to realise that the tailors are just front men - as far as I know, none of them make their own. They all go to the same back street tailors for the manufacture process. Therefore, regardless of which shop you go to, it will most likely be the same tailor who actually makes your shirt.

And the tailors know only how to make a garment a single way with a single quality of fabric, fasteners and decorations. Manufacturing, especially custom manufacturing, maximizes its means of production by creating what the client wants - which includes varying quality levels. Why would tailors be any different?

If you read past threads on this subject you will see an awul lot of dissatifaction with the quality of tailoring in HH.P
They do seem less pushy than a few years ago.

You better zip it up or you may get hemmed in and stitched up by these guys. It's a well known pattern in Thailand and if it happens, best to bolt quickly. :duck: Nameless

I have had nothing but total satisfaction with dealing with Needle King in Bangkok for over 12 years, despite being of large frame and difficult to fit properly.. needlekingtailor.com/
I have found nothing but disaster in having a shirt made in HH... buttons out alignment, poor stitching, and materials substituted from what was decided at time of ordering.. I could go on.
