Tiger Beer now brewed in Thailand ... there is a Buddha!

I have been drinking Heineken recently as Carlsburg is in very limited supply in HH these days (I'm guessing very old stock), problem is I don't like Heineken ... but I can drink it. I can't stomach Singha (chemical taste), Chang (Changover) Kloster (tastes like piss).

I enjoy Leo and Black Beer but can't get it in most places and they don't produce 'small' bottles as far as I am aware.

Also as an aside why did the original brown bottled Amarit Beer stop being produced, it was nectar?

However problem is now solved, Tiger Beer (originally from Singapore ?) is now brewed in Thailand and is becoming more readily available ... I think it's the Badger's Nadgers and is deffo my favoured bottled beer.

I am told by those that 'know' it differs little from the 'real' stuff.

You are right, it is good stuff. Drank it exclusively for four days last week in Pattaya and guess what, no headache at all the next day as I get 90% of the time with Heineken. It's arrived on the shelves of the expat food stores (Foodland, Tops etc) here in BKK. Small bottles sold out almost immediately, large bottles in stock. Read that by years end they will be offering it in cans as well. Pete

Back in Jomtien now and glad to say Tiger is a winner in my favourite bar in Pattaya (The Wild Chicken in Soi Post office).

Of all the regulars (about 10) that drank Heineken and have tried Tiger only one has switched back ...

Yes, I used to like Tiger a lot when I was working in $ingapore. Another favourite there was Anchor. And ABC stout. Didn't see Tiger at Foodland last time I was there, but did get it at the small Family Mart store. Will look again next time I'm at Foodland.
