I have 2 little ones and we worried about the deet so skipped the lotions and such for that reason.. Our up stairs bedroom has A/C so we always start the A/C about 30 minutes before bed and give the room a good spray of mozzie killer so that it has disapated by the time the girls go to sleep. It seemed to get rid of the sneaky ones and with the positive pressure to seams and smalls cracks from the A/C we never have much of an issue with Mozzies..Now ants that was a different story. Always check the bed and sheets for the ants..Tasha my smallest one seemed to be a good at attracting those little red ones(grrr) getting a nip or two even with the bed being check for any of them crawling around and the floor swept.
One word is not a story but it is the beginning and end of one.

If you think that 50% DEET cream is bad for you, then a quick look at a chemist in Market Village showed a product (the most expensive) with 95% DEET.

I am sure that no mosquito would ever touch you, but not sure of the long term side effects.

interesting to read that 50% of servicemen reporting disorders after the iraq war could be reproduced/traced to sun cream and DEET (apparently sun cream allows DEET into the body more easily).

we used to use the orange bottle (13% DEET if cream, 11% if spray) most nights on the children, but have now switched.

btw, celery appears to be just as good as DEET against mosquitos, and the strength of the DEET quite often doesnt make much of a difference in how effective a cream is. full details in the tropical medicine and international health article below

The only question is where to buy a celery based cream....
