Fishing in Hau Hin?

Would like to go fishing when I am in Hua Hin anyone know what options are available.

Do they have any deep sea fishing charters?

Hello Fleet,

Been sea fishing a few times now and has been a complete waste of time. Apparently if you go a few hours down the coast line South it gets better, so maybe ok if you're willing to spend half the day travelling by car and boat.

Hua Hin has a new fishing 'park' (lake) run by an English guy, its new so not sure the fish have matured yet. Has food and drink available.

Cha Am has a fish park about 40 minutes away, we've caught Carp up to 35 kilo and catfish upto 60 kilo in there. Worth a visit, has food and drink available.

Ratchaburi has an excellent fish park an hour and 20 minutes away, never anyone there, has bigger variety of fish. Big carp there, massive catfish there (mate caught one around 70 kilo), Arapalma (sp?) (mate caught one around 80 kilo), Pirranha (sp?) (I caught one at 12 kilo), Alligator Gar (looks half alligator/half pike), red-tailed catfish, and many more species. Has food and drink available.
Ratchaburi definately worth a visit.

Bamboo,

It's not very well advertised/sign posted, but you turn off the Petchakasem Road towards Ratchaburi, when you get near Ratchaburi town there is a big left turn (road number 3208) and it's down that road about 1 kilometer on the left (you will see the lake from the road if you drive slowly).
The 3208 turning is just after a main set of traffic lights where there is a large silver clock tower in the middle of the road, that's quite easy to spot.
It's worth taking some chicken, the fish seem to love that.

You're welcome, its one of the best places I've fished and definately undiscovered yet by the masses (unlike Cha Am fish park).
The owner used to have a croc in the lake, he says it's died now but still has one in a pen next to where you fish. He also has peacocks and some kind of weird meerkat looking thing.

Hi Burger,

Don't mind a few hours by road and idea where these charters go from? Do you have any contact details?

I will keep the fish parks in mind however I would prefer sea fishing if possible.

There is a very nice fishing park 4-5 KM outside of Cha am.
From Cha am folow the road to petchaburi and turn left in the direction of Baan Hup khapong. From there folow the signs for the fishing park. 50 bath hole day with one rod, extra rod 50 bath more. only one hook allowed. Bring fisch home 20 bath/kilo. bait, groundbait, worms, food, drinks etc. available. openingtime 9 am to 10 pm. big fun, also for the ladies easy to catch consumption fish and very nice and helpfull people who run the place.

Just to let you all know, that we are open for dayfishing at Hua Hin Fishing Lodge.

Due to the recent dodgey weather and the fact that this is Thailand, the restaurant and shop won't be fully open until about end August!

BUT - NOT TO WORRY

We can still provide meals and snacks + the stuff in green & brown bottles.
