Safety Glasses

Post by garhook »

Need to get a new pair of safety glasses for my work
I have tried 4 places in Hua Hin, but no luck so far.
Even the most popular opticians with multipal shops don't know what I am talking about.
The glasses must be plastic lens and have side shields
Does anyone know of a Thai supplier

Try Home-Pro or possibly Tesco.

I guess that you are referring to prescription lens, not just eye protection?

I doubt that you will find them outside of Bangkok. You need CR 39, or equal, not "plastic".

You may get some sense out of the following in Bangkok, email or phone:

CR 39 is plastic. Safety Glasses are made with polycarbonate lenses in the US. Trivex lenses are more impact resistant than CR 39 but less resistant than polycarbonate. Polycarbonate and Trivex are also plastics.

Yes, in the US! But we are not in the US, and as far as I am aware CR 39 stands for "Californian Resins formula 39". Mention "plastic" in this country and you may end up with something made from a water bottle.
