I still can't understand why the idiots in the U.S. and Thailand keep thinking that using food for fuel is cheaper. Food just gets more expensive when you suck up so much for fuel. Who is the loser then when prices for food sky?
Certainly in Thailand I think that much of the problem stems from the fact that high food prices are taken as profit by the suppliers and not passed on to the farmer so that they then grow cane sugar that ends up going to ethanol production instead of food crops.
If the rises in food prices had reached the fields, farmers would be growing food.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Thanks for the heads up on the Gasohol/Benzine thing.
I am driving down to HH next week for the "big move"...on previous trips I have averaged about 13.4 km/per litre using either E20 or Gasahol91 in my Accord. I will fill up with regular 91 on this trip and see if there is any difference.
Drove down to HH yesterday using red 91 and averaged 16.7kpl....a significant improvement!!!

Benzine 95 was almost impossible to get, there were only one or two places in Bangkok I knew of that still sold it after Shell totally went gasohol. Note that it wasn't just phased out, it was being forced off the market at the time. After the announcement, one PTT station went from all 95 gasohol pumps to almost all benzine 95 pumps practically overnight.
There is quite a significant difference in mileage between benzine and gasohol. There is also a significant difference in the feel of the power of the car as well.
