The Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas V Sheraton Resort.
If anyone had to choose between these two hotels, which would you choose please & why?

I would opt for Sofitel as it is right in the centre of town whereas the Sheraton is must further out although I think it has the better beach. Both are lovely hotels though.

Oh the Sofitel Centara Grand hands down. I am a sucker for the history of the place along with the atmosphere and that it is in the center of town. No hassles staying there.

This is just a guess, but think it is probably Sofitel. V villas are on the Accor website with is part of that group. It looks lovely. Also looked at the room rates £309 per night!

I hear the Sofitel is undergoing renovations at the moment. Does anyone know what if anything the affect on guests is? Cheerio, Luke

Check out the Sofitel pool villa alternative situated just across the road leading to the beach. There's one and two bedroom villas, most of them with private plunge pool. Also a communal swimmingpool, playground for the kids as well as a very nice restaurant with bar on the grounds. I've stayed on both sides of the "beach" road several times - each side has it's advantages, staying in a pool villa doesn't stop you from enjoy the benefits of the rest of the premises.
Though staying in the pool villas the latter years made me choose the alternative of renting privately owned pool villas some kms outside town.

V Villas are seperate from Sofitel Hotel and Villas - V Villas are a different location.
I just coming back from Sofitel. Yes they are under renovation. The Railway Restaurant is closed until End of October. They also renovated up to 80 Rooms in the Main Building above the Reception and the Railway Restaurant. But you do not get any noises about that.
The Sofitel Pool Villas are located on the other side of the street - but this are not the V Villas. I Don´t know V villas - but the Pool Villas at the Sofitel are much cheaper and pretty nice.

V Villas is independent from Sofitel or Sheraton. V Villa is located further South on Petchkasam Road before the flyover on the left side of the road as you go South, very exclusive and small. Sheraton is way up north on the border of HH and Cha-Am.

I can only advise the Sofitel. Very nice Hotel with good personal staff. Have bin there 4 times now.
