Guitar Lessons
Guitar Lessons
Just wondering if there is anyone in HH with 'mad' guitar skills giving lessons. I've been playing for many years and do well as a rhythm player. But, I'd like to step it up a notch and become a lead.
Anyone interested, let me know. Thanks!

Jpsmith, learning to play electric guitar is on my bucket list (along with learning to play golf, and dating supermodels). I've been 'playing' (and I use the term loosely) with a few guys here in Singapore for about a year - if you're ever interested in hooking up to jam sometime - I can make some background (white?) noise

Always a possibility. Watch this space, I'll hit you up when I'm in town and settled in.kalbow wrote:Jpsmith, learning to play electric guitar is on my bucket list (along with learning to play golf, and dating supermodels). Hey bozz, sounds good. One of my ambitions (along with dating the supermodel) is to learn to play a few guitar solos...bozzman101 wrote:hi guys give me a shout too been playing for years can teach you the solo in hotel california if you want!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers

Re: Guitar Lessons
@Guru --- likewise, I've been playing 20-odd years (1st lesson when I was 4) and I can play a lot of track solos. My whole goal is to really 'crack' modal theory and improve my improvisational skills (along w/ adding an arsenal of patterns, blues riffs, etc...). @Kalbow --- nice selection. I have a range of everything from Zeppelin, Hendrix, and Claption to Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam to anything as recent The Subways. So, if we ever get together, I'll definitely take you through a few things. Enjoy!

Re: Guitar Lessons
Hey Bozz, what sort of guitar you got? I have a cheepo Fender Squire and recently bought a black Godin SD22. I only have a little box amp but I've a Line 6 convert that allows me to get effects through my computer which in turn connects to box amp or home theatre AV amp etc.

Re: Guitar Lessons
I find a plectrum is generally less painful...ive been playing by ear moast of the time
Best modes to learn IMHO are the five 'Dorian' ones very good for improv and general solo playing.

I'm on a Gibson Custom 1958 Les Paul Plaintop Reissue. It's given me a monster sound since I found it at a London rare shop in the fall of 2006. I'd post a picture but I'm still a newbie.
