Advertising is a must but I am interested in succesful promotons to draw new business to a bar that might already advertise in HHAD.
Perhaps this is already being done.I think It would be good to have a drawing 1-2 times a month for a free bar fine. On the given night (well advertised),each person buying a drink would be given a numbered ticket. This would give the patron an added incentive to stay at the bar to drink into the evening.
At an appointed hour-not closing time- the drawing would be held. The winner person with the winning ticket must be present to win. If the first ticket winning ticket holder is not present,then another number is drawn until a winner is found. The free bar fine should be good for at least one week giving the winner a chance to get sober--if necessay--before claiming his prize.
I was a winner in one of these in BKK in the early 90's. The problem was that it was not properly promoted (advertised) and I just happened to be at the bar when the drawing was held.

It may be ok for the bar to wave the fine, but what if the girls not want to go any where. The Girls always have a choice
They would not be free. They are not prize to be won,
This to me does not seem very nice thing to say.

It does not sound like a proposal that would go down well in Hua Hin (although I can think of several places in Pattaya where it might work) - maybe I'm just getting old, but the thought of winning such a prize does not appeal to me. If I were to go off the rails with another woman, I certainly wouldn't be advertising it in a public lottery!

At one time in Lazy Daze they had a bowl of lucky numbers which you paid 20bt to draw. My girlfriend used to have a go and if the prize was a cocktail she would have it, I would get the beers and we even got a bottle of whisky one night. Inevitably she eventually pulled out a number for a free bar fine. Now my girlfriend is a good sport, but not that good so she had a word with the owner and we negotiated for the same value in drinks, which seemed a reasonable deal for a 20bt stake.

I agree that it is distasteful to have a bar fine as a raffle prize! However, it is simply confirmation that the girls in this situation are a commodity - hence the existence of the bar fine in the first place. The raffle prize just takes things to the next logical step. Cold and distasteful - but logical. I feel a sense of deja-vu coming on with this one.....

Don't give up mate, it is an interesting topic, how about:
a) Killer pool nights, winner gets 10 free drinks or some kind of small prize, or each player puts in 100 Baht for winner (that's not gambling is it
)
b) Happy hours, 2 for 1 drinks (or 1 for 2 in the Irish theme pubs)
c) 'Clean-Toilet-Night' bars can put a sign outside the bar after their monthly clean has taken place.
d) Raffle for a free bar-fine ........ DOH.

Burger, we have killer and 9-ball pool night on every Thursday at BG. Usually at least one of the killer matches and one of the 9-ball matches have a prize, which is collected from the participants and given to the winner(s). Lately it's been a bit quiet but during the winter months we often had 10+ players. Also our toilet is clean all the time.

Perhaps a bad idea. I did not mean to imply that the girl was obligated to go with anyone. Same same as any bar fine. It must be a mutual agreement. The bg would get her half of the BF. The only one sacrificing any $ would the bar owners share.
Perhaps this is another topic but some of you seam to think that a BF is a form of slave trafficing!!This would be a good subject to be discussed .
