Oh my goodness.taken from his table,not even savy enough to rathole his dosh out of sight.Not sure your mate will get much sympathy on this site but good that you illustrate the danger.Its 5000 baht that she took which is equivalent to a months wages planting rice up North.I feel a shred for him as he did not even get his leg over to compensate for his loss but i bet the headache went pretty quickly.I subscribe to the general view aired on this forum in that most Thai working girls are pretty honest but hell leaving money out is just too much temptation.

I know few farangs who were so excited once they got to Thailand that they went directly from Don Muang to bars to get wasted. Always take your time to prepare your room and put your passport and valuables aside. After that you can have fun and relax... An opportunity makes a thief as they say.

Can't agree more, i have got a friend who had such great fun with a girl whom he met in the disco that he woke up $1000(Singapore dollar) poorer.

My mate did hide the dosh in the table drawer, inside a magazine he said, but she must've had a rummage about while he was in the shower. No excuses from him, he said he felt stupid after he'd calmed down, but he did want to kill her that night!!

I usually bring my steady gf from BKK .But the selection of girls in HH is above average. I have seen some who I would ditch me gf to be with.

Would prefer not to leave a girl,who I do not know well, alone in my room for too long.

So why are you with her then? Doesn't sound much of a relationship as I expect she feels exactly the same about you when she sees the selection of Swedish men around Hua Hin. Do it don't just talk about it or is it a fantasy and you like the ball and chain? either way its a mystery to me why you are with one person yet tell the world she is just there on sufferance until something better appears. At least she will be comfortable with you and your attitudes, sounds just like a typical Thai man and I am sure you know how much respect Thai girls have for the old snake head. Why do so many men get ****** over............It's because they deserve it.

Not above average compared to other main tourist resorts in Thailand, IMHO.
Bring your bird along, I'll take her for a drink while you 'look around'. So that just leaves my missus, any takers ?

You think it is bad loosing $200, there are parts of the UK that some girls are that good at thieving, they can steal hubcaps from moving cars.

I know it sounds naive, boys, but the"bargirl with a heart of gold" does exist, even in Bintabaht. Be nice to the girl. A little present can go further than money. Let her know you enjoy the time with her. Make sure (if, like me, you are a married man on holiday) that you are up front about any future dreams she may have. You are here for a holiday, and you can give her a holiday too, but thats all. Be playful and attentive. On the last night, take her friends out to dinner too. I payed barfine (and her) the first 2 nights, then nothing for 2 weeks(mostly not in Hua Hin). She refused it. I covered our(very modest) costs. When it was time to go, I bought her a cheap gold chain - she refused to take even a small amount of money. I get emails, but never asking for money (for a year). No sick father, no dead waterbuffalo, no English lessons. I'm on my way back soon,and asked her if there was anything she wants from Australia - I get the reply that she only wants a holiday with me, and nothing else. Maybe it's so far so good - but these girls have often had very hard lives, and treating them well can be rewarding ( If yuo're lucky).

It's been my experience anywhere in Thailand yhat if you treat the girl with respect and kindness, it will be returned tenfold. Thai women have to be the nicest people you will find anywhere.
