Billy has passed away
It's difficult to know where to start, so just to let people know that Billy - ex Hare and Hounds and the Ship - very sadly died in the early hours of Tuesday March 22nd.
On top of pre-existing health problems Billy had been ill for about a week and a half. He was being treated at home for a chest infection. His condition became suddenly critical and he was taken to hospital, where he arrested. He was 60, and had lived in Pattaya before moving to HuaHin in 1999.
Post Mortem results now show that he suffered 3 very serious heart conditions, and further tests are being done as it is thought he also had pneumonia.
My thanks to all who have already sent private messages of condolence. I have been overwhelmed by your responses and kind words, and I'm sure Billy would have been well chuffed too.
As Lomu so astutely put it - he will be up there over sunny HH with a bottle of Chang. And cheers to that.
Rest in peace Billy x

Very sorry to hear that. I remember many trips to Ranong in the van and helping him out of the boat back in da day. You and Billy were some of the first people I met back in 2000 when I came to Hua Hin to set up the Shrimp factory in Pran. He will be in my prayers.

A very colourful person has gone! I remember Billy well from his days in the Ship; always good company for a chat and a drink. It seemed no matter what Billy was always in a good mood and he had a great sense of humour.
RIP Billy and all the best to you Maggs, very tough to lose a soul mate like Billy.

Very sad, so sorry to hear the news Mags. Likewise, you and Billy were one of first people I met when I first came to Hua Hin. My condolences to you, RIP Billy.

Very sorry to hear, I'm glad I met Billy again (albeit briefly) when you were back here a few months ago. He was a guiding light for me in my very early days here, always available for a chat or to whip me at chess.

Our sympathies are with you, Mags.
Billy was always great when you both had "The Hare and Hounds" and later "The Ship". He would always bring your customers round to my bar in those days and from those visits I've made many friends who remain so until today. For that alone, I owe Billy a debt.
We both look forward to seeing you again in the not too distant future.

My condolences for your loss Mags. I certainly didn't know him but I do remember meeting him when organising a visa run some years ago.

Mags - please let me add my condolences. I remember you both from the Ship during my drinking days.
