Ended up down there the other week after convincing my son to bunk off school for the day, couldn't believe how much it had changed, loads of kite surfers, kite surf schools etc. A medical aid team of 3 driving up and down on a special beach buggy, a rather large platform/look-out point!? or something a bit further down the beach Takiap way.

Just as everyone's already said, restaurant is great, a bit expensive but not Hilton/Marriott type prices, and you're paying to be right on the beach etc. Very busy there with these surfers and their rope lines etc, so not ideal for swimming but interesting watching, I take it the influx of them is seasonal There must have been maybe 100 of these surfers, mostly in their 30's I'd say, you don't seem to see them around town much in the evenings, they've probably brought the average age of the farang community down by 15 years, to around 112

There were some nice big pools of trapped water where the tide had gone out, which were ideal for young kids to muck around in, about a foot deep, the Beach Cafe is in these pics. The quality is cack, taken with a mobile, sorry about that ...

And me son soon cracked this surfing carry on ...

I think that might be because of the Hua Hin kite boarding world cup which is being held at the moment!

This place is not bad, however service quality is different, especially on the busy night or before they close, staff just not interested to go to the lower terrace anymore..:) If you there, go for meat balls, its a great dish served with salad and some cold potato cubes.

P.S. Did the owner installed wifi yet?
