Last Year this mega-even at Hua Hin, being the first ever professional kiteboarding event in Asia, proved to be one of the best events of the entire world tour and therefore establishing itself as the new standard of kiteboarding competition.

The only place where I found reference to where the venue is, is on the Google map on their web site. Appears to be a bit south of Soi 85. Pete

Giving this a bump as its running this week - not the best of weather for a beach kitesurf festival though!

Anyone been at the Kiteboarding Championship?

Any update? Pics? Impressions? Runs until Sunday in front of the Continental Hotel.

Can't make it to Hua Hin, but would appreciate an update!

Understand wind wasn't so good during the first days, but now it's reeeally blowing. Also in Bangkok, feels like snow from the north!

Wow great pictures!
We went yesterday, it was a great day!
Good wind and nice and sunny.
My wife spoked to some kiteboarder from Holland. He said the weather was great but he liked some more wind! :D
We have also a lot of pictures made, but maybe later i try to post them.
(have to found out how first.)

Those pics are actually from last year - off up there shortly to get some of the finals.

Please upload some of yours, we'd love to see them, here's how to do it: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=16714

Ok here a few pictures, taken by my wife.
She is the photgrapher of us.

It was difficult shooting them in action, than you had to go into the water and have a bigger, better camera.

I hope you like them!

Nice pics, it was a tad disappointing for me, got there yesterday at about 13.30 expecting to see the freestyle finals but it was all over. The program was very misleading, the final day just involved a 3 hour wait for the closing ceremony - very badly organized compared to last year IMO.

I hope they do a better job next year.

They had very bad weather this year, most of the time light wind and 2 days of North-Eastern storm with heavy rain, gusty wind and high seas. Seems to me they need to move the event to be in February, much more predictable weather as KIteboard Tour Asia enjoyed in Paknampran earlier this year.

Saw a pile of them pitch up at Kung Oy's last week also quite a few stayed at Condo Chain. Made me ache just to watch how much gear they carried down to the beach
