I felt I needed to go the the ER today so I went to Bangkok Hospital. I was seen immediately with the correct level of concern. The young ER Dr. Dissawan was excellent in his attitude and care. He communicated well and asked all the right questions and answered all my questions satisfactorily. Service in general from all the ER staff was excellent. They did exactly what I expected them to do with the condition I had and the cost was actually less than I expected.
A very good hospital experience.

If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!

Thanks E-Dork. It was a problem breathing along with a feeling like an elephant sitting on my chest. They couldn't pin down the exact cause and I just went in to rule out a cardiac problem (which I didn't think it was but the symptoms indicated it could be). I suspect it is my lifelong asthma problem flaring up for some reason but that could not be verified in the ER. I have to go see a specialist next week. The good news was they did some cardiac tests, blood tests, and took a chest x-ray, and found nothing serious. They also gave me oxygen and a special asthma breathing treatment and I was better for the rest of the day.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Glad it wasn't a cardiac problem!! Hope all is well!!
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
I have been reading with interest about this hospital all 14 pages, and I have been impressed with the input of Dr Mike.
I usually go to Bumrungrad for my yearly checkup, but it is getting expensive when you include a taxi fare. A friend told me that Bangkok hospital had an opening special on full check up. 10.700 baht during February. So went along and agreed to have the check up. I was very impressed by the nurses all immaculate all smiling and very helpful. The check up took nearly 4 hours, all equipment is state of the art and so was the service.
At the end I was informed that one Doctor had not turned up so there would be a wait to see the Doctor. I was given the choice to leave and make an appointment or wait to see the doctor. I decided to wait as I was keen to see the results. I was given a voucher for lunch at their little cafe, a nice gesture. I did have to wait a long time. One of the ladies who was in front of me told me the Doctor is brilliant so helpful and informative. I have to say I was very impressed, every thing was explained in detail and I left feeling 100 % The results will be posted to my home with in 3 days and I received them today. I will sleep much easier at night knowing we now have a top class hospital in Hua Hin. Doctor Mike you have a new disciple.
I thought it was serious, but after the check up I found out I had a hernia not the dreadful disease I thought I had. + everything else was spot on for my age. Can't be bad a few more years in Hua Hin.
yes we do have Vitamin B12, the medication used to treat what used to be called Pernicious Anemia and is now called Addisonian Anemia. You will need to see a Dr at your first visit and we will need to measure your Hemoglobin, but after this a regular schedule of injections can be arranged.
In April the last stage of the hospitals opening will occur. The Dutch Club and the Swedish Club are going to make visits.
Interestingly. I do not believe that there are British, Aussie or Kiwi Clubs/Associations in Hua Hin. So I think I will have a Commonwealth group around one night. Any other groups, you don't have to be all under the same flag are welcome--drop me a line Moreton@bgh.co.th
I take this opportunity to thank Mr. Som-arch Wongkhomthong, the Director of BH as well as Dr. Mike for their recommendation to see a specialist at their sister hospital in Bangkok.
Everything worked out very well and we were impressed with the knowledge of that specialist.
I toured the new construction of the Inpatient Dept today and it looks good. The 'official" opening date is April 6th and it will definitly be ready not just for the opening but for serious work.
I will be arranging tours for interested groups before then and will let you know wthe dates soon.
MORE PROGRESS
The Intensive care unit is now finished and equipped. Starting next week, any patient that we wish to observe overnight or admit for a very short admission will be able to be kept in hua Hin.
The full in-patient unit with its beautiftul single rooms with en-suite bathrooms should be open about two weeks later about April 2nd.
