I took a neighbour there. Service was impeccable and cheaper than I expected. Also did not try to load her up with pills she did not need.

good to hear that you were well taken care of. The Out Patient dept opening as taken some of the strain off the Emergency dept and the waiting time is much less.

Went to the new Bangkok Hospital this morning to get a painful shoulder examined.

I arrived at 11.30, registered and was politely ushered in to see the doctor straightaway.

Then an immediate X-ray (no waiting), a brief 10-minute wait (just enough time for a fresh cappuccino from their snack bar), and then back in to assess the x-ray results.

I was seen by Dr. Chanatip, who was very polite, competent and thorough.
He showed me the x-rays and explained everything.
Even demonstrated some exercises I can do at home to help the condition.
He discussed medication with me - without simply prescribing it - and we agreed on no medication for the time being.

He finally made an appointment for me to see a specialist in 2 weeks to see if the suggested exercises lead to any improvement.

The service was first class in every respect.

So 10 out of 10 for my first visit there.

Ear Nose & Throat --We have an ENT dr working in the evenings, phone and ask for an appointment.

DERMATOLOGY --We have no skin specialist at the moment. However I watched one very good Video conference on a skin problem. The technology is wonderful, the pictures are very clear. So a patient in HH can show the Dr in BKK the problem and they can discuss and arrange the treatment.

Has anyone had success with booking an appointment online?

I took the Mrs there this week for a check-up..good service she said, well impressed.."how about you"?
she said.. Told her the coffee was good, the 40b sandwich was excellent, but the 'internet corner' has 2 nice high-backed chairs to settle into..only to find the 'public' computers are 'password-locked'..WTF is that
all about..?? (so bought another chicken sarnie & people-watched some more).

The construction of the In-Patient section is progressing really well, The Intensive care unit looks as if it could be functional in a few weeks. It really looks good, each patient will be in a separate cubicle giving some privacy and every room has floor to ceiling windows. ICUs are often like caves with no windows and are very depressing, this does NOT look like that. At the present time we think that the Inpatient area will be open in about 7 weeks. With that more full time staff will come on board and we will be a real full service hospital. In january we have admitted 32 patients to the hospital in BKK. When we have all the units open that will decrease to about a quarter of that number.

I was one of them. Following my experiences with both HH and BKK branches of BKK Hospital I have nothing but praise for the doctors and medical staff. The registration and processing when you enter the Hua Hin hospital is a breeze, fully computerised and done in minutes.

The main hospital in BKK is equally impressive, very little waiting about between departments and very professional staff, all of whom can speak English. Being emailed and called regarding appointments and updates was a delight in a country where 80% of local business don't even reply to email or barely know how to use it.

It is not the cheapest for major operations but if you want the best without the worry I'd highly recommend Bangkok Hospital. Something like this in Hua Hin is long overdue, and will hopefully put the rogues at San Paulo out of business.

Visited O/P department on Saturday 01 Jan for a really sore throat, cough and loss of voice - (Mrs T liked that )

Was prescribed some antibiotic and cough relievers which worked within a week.

Unfortunately the bad cough returned whilst I was in Delhi the following week. Tried some local cures to no avail.

Was back home over the weekend and visited again on Sunday 30th.

This time I saw an EN&T specialist - Dr Jiravadee Chatuthasri - a very nice young lady.

Thorough examination with some sophisticated equipment and a full explanation of the problem - infected tonsils

Medication this time was a strong antibiotic plus cough pills.

After two days I'm feeling a lot better

Not cheap - around THB 2,000 - but very professional.

Let me know when they are going to demolish San Paulo

I think I'm destined to have bad experiences in orthodox hospitals. Some kind of Karmic payback.

Don't wish to share the details but 'rogues' is a fitting label.
