Something I've never seen before is when my daughter gets a bad head cold, the hospital doc uses a syringe and flushes her nasal passages and sinus (to a degree) with saline solution.
They sell the saline nasal washes here in the stores. I've never tried but my nose is messed up anyway after 3 breaks.
I know a few people who swear by them
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

Look up 'Neti Pot'. It is well known in Ayurveda for relief of sinus, allergic and ENT problems.

Mr P,
I use that...great for general hayfever too...Highly recommended.
Its just a saltwater wash basically and cleans the sinuses and throat...sounds weird and feels weird at first, but one of the easiest and best basic health treatments IMO.
You havea cold---Go to the drug store--buy lots of 'Cold Cures"--take them and you will be better in 7 days. OR just take simple care of yourself, bed rest, fluids and Tylenol if feverish--It may take a week!

Second that. Drink whatever pleases you, plenty of fluids. Schnaps or Vodka and lemon juice goes down well and gives you a pleasant sleep.
Seven days it is. And stay at home. Don't walk around spreading your bugs.
I was under the impression that when the symptoms arrive a person isn't actually going to pass the thing on.
The "pass on days" are the ones before you even know you've got the bug yourself.
I'll stand corrected on that though,

That may be, but I am not so sure. Anyways, I don't appreciate people with colds sneezing in my face, so do stay at home
I've been using zinc lozenges for years now. I used to get frequent and lasting (14 days) colds; then I heard about zinc lozenges and started using them and have only had a couple of full blown colds in several years and even those were milder and of shorter duration than the previous ones.
When I feel the first signs of a cold coming on I just start using the lozenges every 4 hours and most times the cold never develops. When it has, I still continue to take the lozenges to get over it faster and for milder symptoms. Maybe it's all in my head, but it seems to work for me.
I use "Cold-Eze" brand from the U.S. when I have it (I get people to bring it to me when they come over), but there is a local brand sold here that I've used a couple of times. It has less zinc so I calculate the dosage by the amount of zinc in the Cold-Eze. I know several other people that say this works for them too.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
