Not biased, just Welsh - Wales to take the Championship!! :neener: :run:

In all seriousness, Wales will be missing several key players, and are going to struggle. The pack is very likey the weak point for them this season and England will undoubtedly target the Welsh scrum. Wales will certainly do well to beat England on the 4th, but if they do, the confidence boost will see them make a challenge for 2nd.
If England beat Wales in the opener, the key game will IMHO be England vs France - England playing at home may have the advantage.
Ireland not at their best, and Scotland I think will do fairly well. Italy - Wooden Spooners.

Final table

France
Wales
Scotland*
England*
Ireland*
Italy

* 3-Way Tie for 3rd. Order based on points difference.

I suspect a little closer to the truth, but no Grand Slam this season. Wales playing Scotland at Murrayfield could also switch 3rd and 4th

Mind you, you never know with England these days....... they may well struggle in the halfbacks, forward play may just not be enough.

If Heineken cup form is anything to go by then Wales are going to compete very well but not quite have enough to close out games that they should win. As a result, they could end up losing a number of close games and ending up with diddly squat, as happened to Cardiff Blues and the Hairspreys in the Heineken Cup. However, even with injuries, they are not that far away and England do not have any real stand out players, although they are an efficient, well drilled side as you would expect since they are coached by Martin Johnson.

Wales do have a number of players out - loss of the two props being massive blows - but they also have some big name players coming back from injury. I wouldn't be surprised to see the following backline from Wales:

9. Mike Phillips
10. James Hook
12. Jon Davies
13. Jamie Roberts

11. Shane Williams
14. Lee Halfpenny

15. Lee Byrne

If those players hit form, they are undoubtedly a match for anyone in attack and defence!

However, a travesty that Martyn Williams is not in the squad. :banghead:

Anyway, I'll be there!

And where the hell are you in the league??? Pretty bloody lonely flying the Welsh flag at the moment.... :( get it sorted and join for Christ sake!!

As for your choice of backs.... pretty sound, but in all honesty I see Gatland picking Stephen Jones at 10 with Hook at 12.

Gutted with Martyn, but at the end of the day we need to bring the younger guys through - Sam the man deserves his chance quite frankly. Mr Williams will no doubt go through to the World Cup later in the year..

Forwards....... Ryan Jones in the 2nd row?
