Mountain Bike For sale

Post by Randy Cornhole »

I am sadly selling my Mountain Bike for the simple reason i'm no longer here on a regular basis and its too good a bike to leave sitting around.

Here is the spec -

Trek 8500 frame, Full Shimano XTR setup, Chris King head set, Thompson elite seat post, Monkey lite carbon bars, Mavic super lite carbon wheels, Fox (lockable) front forks etc etc (see pic)

This is a serious piece of custom kit and originally cost me over 110,000.00 bht. Bike is availiable for viewing in Hua Hin.

I will accept offers but please be sensible...

Any questions please call - 08 3312 7333

Hi Randy, I can't view the pics for some reason.

How old is the bike?

How tall are you (so I can see the size person it fits)?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I think the picture problem is a side effect of the server transfer that is taking place on the 6th & 7th Jan. I'm guessing but I think the transfer of the forums is complete, but the images will be part of tomorrow's transfer.

If I'm wrong, at least we've highlighted the problem (I've also noticed the caption competition pics have gone walkabout).

The tech guys will let us know if it's any more than that when they clock on in the morning :D

The bike is about 4 years old but looks and works as new.

The frame is on the small size, i'm 5'8 and its good for me. I like a tall saddle and good frame clearance for those big jumps... :thumb:

Nice bike Randy Cornhole, too bad it's a hard tail and not full suspension though.

fully depends on the kind of ride your looking for really. My son was a 'Kona' lover before, his first bike being the 'Kona Kuna'. He was offered a full suspension but insisted it be a rigid back end as he would be riding it on the road rather than 'downhilling' it. From what I understood if the majority of usage is on roads a full suspension is a pain in the arse.
If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!

You're right E-Dork. A rigid back or hard tail mountain bike would be better on the road/pavement use.

Hard tails are especially good on trails due to the feedback you get from the rear wheel.

Full sussers are really downhill jumpers. Give me a hard tail over full suspension any day.

Its a question of what you want to do with the bike. I'm more of an old school trail rider.

If my knees were up to it I would definatly go for a single speed hub and ditch the XTR completly... 8)

Hello Randy, I tried calling but got a message that said "press 2 for English", then the phone went dead.
Is the bike still for sale please?
