Re: sirin or tipurai??
Sirin is right in the thick of things..rooms could be noisy..?
Tipurai HAS got the roof-top pool, & the higher rooms could be quieter
(I found Tipurai staff a bit pompous..think they all been trained at HH Hilton)
If you're not gonna eat in the hotel I'd say go for PP Villa opp. Sirin..good rooms,(at the back,so quiet) same price, big pool.

Re: sirin or tipurai??
Never stayed at the Sirin, but we've been going to their restaurant to eat since 2003 as it has some of the best Thai food in town at very reasonable prices and the service is good too. They must treat and pay the staff well as they've been mostly the same for the last seven years (used to be an outdoor restaurant on the lot where McDonald's is now) so the quality is consistent.

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: sirin or tipurai??
I stayed at the Thipurai in August for 4 days...they are doing renovations on the top 2 floors. The lift was out off action everyday for long periods...not so good for us disabled types. I had to be helped down the fire escape one time.
My mind wandered and never came back

La Maison and Wannara are both good hotels and close to the centre.
Some good places in Chomsin road to, and likely to get a good deal if staying a decent length of time.
Cha Ba Chalet in Sa song road has big rooms and good rates.

Re: sirin or tipurai??
I would tend to agree with 'usual suspect' and recommend PP villa.
Central, cheap clean and ideal for a single man. Most people are quite happy to eat out at many of the nearby restaurants.

It was the first place I ever stayed in HH, no pool but good clean rooms, decent location and a great price.
PP Villa is Phuang Phen at E7 on the Map HERE, Cha Ba Chalet is at the bottom of B6 on the same map, PP doesn't have a website.
