Travela adaptor/insect repellent

Post by jcn »

Hi

I'm trying to get organised for our trip to hua hin in 2 weeks. Can I check with you guys that the plug adaptor I need is the round 2 prong one?
Can I also ask if anyone has any recomendations for a good insect repellent for purchase in UK?

Thanks

Julie

I wouldn't bother paying to get either in the UK - both are easily available in HH. Tesco's will have both, 7/11's tend to have the mozzie repellent. There are also several small shops selling electrical goods which will have adapters suitable for all European plugs to the 2-square pin sockets.

Enjoy the trip

I agree with pharvey, I'd buy them in HH and yes it's the round 2 pronged one.

Thread HERE about the repellent.

I've just searched the house for a Thai phone charger without success but will buy one there no problem.

As for mozzie repellant - some big brand names are much the same price in Thailand I think - but I've found the local brand '15' is as good as anything. It's repellant wipes which come in little red/white/blue sachets of 2 wipes for about 5 baht, and contain deet. Buy in boxes of a couple of dozen from local supermarkets and they work out even cheaper.

Funny that, we're taking out a nice phone for my daughter, but it didn't have a charger. My daughter was quoted 800 Baht in Market Village. I've bought her one for £2.98 off Amazon instead. She already has plenty of adaptors.
