Moving to Thailand

Post by daiwill60 »

Hi Guys and Gals
i am thinking of moving to Thailand sometime in Thailand in the New year.
What is the considered opinion on the situation regarding the best qualification to have to teach English over there these days . TEFL or CELTA?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum; I haven't a clue about teaching English, but I know that some members work in that line so you should get an answer.

Either certificate will do, your ability to find work will depend on your teaching skills, if you arrive and are still thing about working as an English teacher check out Insight English with schools in Hua Hin, Cha-am and Bangkok, David

Yes, welcome to the forum.

Having either or will assist you in your search for a job, many places now see having one as a prerequisite, along with a degree.

However, availability of jobs, especially in the Hua Hin area is another matter though, many educational establishments like to hire in the March/April time holiday as that's the start of the academic year.

Give yourself a bit of time and you should be able to find something though.

The other time schools take on teachers is October, Insight English.
