Dangerous fish in Hua Hin ? Do you have a list ?

The Mekong as such is not as polluted as other great rivers. The Problem is that there are now various plans to dam it in several locations.

Not much is known of the breeding habits or habitat of the Giant Mekong - (there being so few to observe) - but it IS a migratory species and travels upstream from the delta regions in Cambodia to the upper reaches near Laos and Thailand.

The proposed dams will certainly kill off the species, as it is too large to navigate and successfully get up any 'fish ladder' as for example Salmon can do.

The WWF are trying to raise the awareness levels - but as usual commercialism is winning.

Today i've got a dangerous fish (10 of them)... they have lots of small spikes, can anyone tell me their name ?

I touched one by accident when a big wave arrived on the boat and i had small spikes on my finger, now it's little hurt and i want to know more about this fish.

That is a fireworm. In 0ver 5000 dives in the gulf I have never seen one. Try and take an actual picture or ask the boat driver (if there is one) or any Thai person for the name in Thai.

Seems like a hell of a lot of dives. Assuming it's a typo as otherwise it's a dive a day for over 10 years, probably 500 yes? Either way you must have some excellent photos. I do enjoy looking at underwater photos (buksida's on that list) so if possible (new thread maybe) would you be able to share?

It was fireworm's, 10 of them in a day... If you want to see them just dive 5 km arround Pak Nam Pran or come fishing with me as i can only catch this.

Green with white yellow spines, small, beautiful and dangerous (no i'm not talking about thai girls).

If you see any, never touch them.

Hahahaha, in fact when i catch something good we cook it. I've got some nice fish too.

Big Boy, i normally use squid, fireworm's seems to love it as i catch one every 20 minutes.

I will try to go fishing with some thai people on their boat to see what kind of technic and bait they use.

No it is not a typo. I worked as a divemaster, then scuba instructor for many years in a fast paced environment where a 2 dive day is a luxury and 5 dive day at least once a week on average. After that I became a partner in ace marine images for several years shooting underwater film and teaching photography and videography. Buksida will probably know the company as he visits Koh Tao.
