Fantasy Premier League 2010-11
The World Cup is over and so is the excitement to predict correct results. In a bit more than a month's time Premier League will start and many of us have our favourite teams and players there. While the traditional IKTS competition is not yet ready to start, it's possible to start building up teams in FPL (these use the same page and you can click between the two games.) Traditionally there has been Hua Hin Sports Club competition but I am now starting HHAD-league as well. So anyone interested in English Premier League and players in the league can join for free. Just follow the links and build your team. It's possible to change your team without losing points until the start of the season. So you can start building up the excitement already now and change your players as the transfer news come in. If anybody needs advise, please feel free to ask here. In my opinion, this is really a fun competition and adds a lot to the matches.
1. Go to
http://www.premierleague.com/page/Home/
2. Log in or sign up
3. Register yourself for the competition and build your team.
4. Code to join the HHAD-league 20128-7754
You are given 100.00 credits to start with and you can't buy too many top players with that so think very carefully whom you buy.
Good Luck

Some hints for those who are new to the game.
1. Choose players who play every week.
2. Choose a goal keeper who has a good defence in front of him.
3. It's good to have defenders and midfielders who score every now and then.
4. Those who take their teams penalties are also worth having in the team.

Re: Fantasy Premier League 2010-11
A bit more than two weeks to go and we now have 10 teams in our league. Hopefully, we'll get a few more from the IKTS players who haven't tried FPL, yet. Come on, it's just as fun as IKTS. Pete and co.!

I've been thinking about it BG but to be honest, as the token Yank on IKTS, I simply don't know enough about the individual players. That being said, I'll have a look at the site over the weekend. There are certainly others on IKTS who could do well, and I hope they join up. Pete

No need to know too much about the different players, after 5-6 seasons in the game, I still don't. All the necessary information is there and if you follow the EPL, you'll know who is doing well. As I said, I'm happy to give any assistance, I can here. It really adds spice to watching the games. Also if you're in both IKTS and FPL, you can still hope that some individual players do well even if your scores are nowhere near what you predicted.

Re: Fantasy Premier League 2010-11
Just checked, at least 7 out of the 11 players in our FPL league also are in our IKTS league. Could be more but then they are/have been using different names in IKTS. So we will be battling on two fronts.

The FPL has been in operation for two years, firstly under The Observer title and last year under HHAD.
There were, in both years, some 30+ players so I am sure they will be rejoining soon.

Actually PET, the Observer and HHAD leagues are newcomers, I started the Hua Hin Sports Club league back in 2005 (or so). That one is still going strong but with a different admin now and a bit different rules for participating. However, I hope the HHAD league will have plenty of HHAD users playing in it.

Doesn't everyone mainly pick the same top rank players? Maybe interesting to see what happens if someone picked only British homegrown players?

Not necessarily as you can only have 2-3 of them due to the budget limit. Luckily there are more than 2-3 top players in the league and not all of them perform well at the same time.Doesn't everyone mainly pick the same top rank players?

Sorry perhaps I was not making myself clear, I did not mean that this HHAD league 2010/11 was the only league in Hua Hin.
The HHAD league we are now talking about was under THe Observer name at first etc - this has nothing to do with HHSC which is a different admin and has been operating longer.
Thus said I expect many more entrants for the reason I gave in my post.

Last season if you didn't have Rooney as Captain then you were going to need a very good side to be able to keep up, BUT that changed towards the end when he lost form, and is he going to start this season or be rested? Going on world cup form, he would be a risk at his price. But equally he could play and get 30 points easily first week! As you rightly say form matters a lot, and so very hard to predict at the beginning of the season. There are a few consistent players who pick up good points week in week out. The other advice was make sure your players are playing, some weeks a team might have two games, big advantage if you have a fistful of those playing. But the other conundrum is transfers, I made so many transfers last season, I came level with a guy who made NONE!! Wasn't very happy about that! lol. It can make a boring game quite interesting though.
Re: Fantasy Premier League 2010-11
I suggest you look at who plays in your midfield, as this is where large points accumulate eg Lampard.
Also your forwards who score often.
Finally they need to play most weeks - so with Man City having to choose from 23 players each week be careful.
