Visa Run

Post by tonymoor »

Hi Folks

A quick question, im needing to do a visa run shortly from bangkok, i have a non immigrant O which gives me multiple entry of 3 months, i know if i do a plane crossing i get 3 months on my return to bangkok airport, but what if was to do a border run via Poipet Border cambodia.Do i get a 3 month again this way?

Or would they only issue a two month and i could extend one month when i get to hua hin
All advise welcome, but if your not 100% sure please say so as i dont want to mess my visa up and lose a month at a time.

The reason for the border visa run , save money

Regards

Tony

It seems from your post that you have a multi entry non O, if that's the case then I'd leave Thailand, any crossing or airport is good I think, just before the first three months expires, then cross back the same day and you should get another 3 months extention on arrival back in Thailand without getting a new non O visa from a consulate/embassy. Think you can do this 4 times and that makes your non O multi entry good for about 15 months.

If it's a single entry non O then it's a different matter. The visa gurus will be along soon, I'm sure.

You say you have a multi-entry Non O. With that, you'll get another 90 days when re-entering Thailand either by air, land or sea. No problems.

You had always the choice of paying in Dollars or Baht. 500 Baht is about 15 Dollars.

Well i went to 4 banks in Cha-Am and 1 bank in Hua-Hin , as i was told that i would need 10 US in good condition . I got 20US because of the difficulty in obtaining them.
In the Burma immigration office they would not take my US and only wanted Thai bhat , 500bt . everything went off smoothly and lots of smiles and good banter , the hole thing from start to finish, from arrival at the Thai side and on my way down the road back home , was 40 min . including the 800 meter walk across the bridge and back. :) :)
