Jing does a nice little BBQ on a thursday or a friday its nice to chill out early evening in there garden and they have a good free pool table, the staff like to have a game with you, also have free wifi for patrons so take your laptop or you can use there two desk tops for a small charge.

The breakfast menu is good and cooked to order, the scrambled egg is very nice, and the bacon is very good.

Always stop there when in HH

They also do a good shuttle service to Swampy airport too

Also allow you instruct how you want your food cooked

Peter said that he knows you Richard, and yes his cab company met me at Swampy drove down to HH safely cost 1800 baht, and we used them again later very resonable.

I can't agree more stayed there twice now and coming back over xmas and new year. Such a friendly chilled out guesthouse 10 out of 10

Whenever I visit Hua Hin I've rented a house in recent years, so I've never stayed at Jings. However, I've known plenty of people who have, and over several years I've never heard an adverse comment.

Recently a friend of mine (who is computer illiterate) told me that he wanted to visit Hua Hin over the Christmas period with his Thai girlfriend. He usually stays in Pattaya, and was looking for accomodation in Hua Hin at a comparable price - less than £15 per night. I had no hesitation in recommending Jings.

I sent an enquiry to Jings initially to identify availability over Christmas and New Year.

The next day there was an e-mail confirming that a room would be available.

Over the next 2 weeks my friend chopped and changed his dates, but throughout Jing remained courteous and helpful. We eventually managed to confirm dates, and Jing even managed to provide a room better than originally offered by upgrading from a small to a medium room at no extra cost.

Having read Richard and Kendo's comments regarding an airport shuttle service, I contacted Jing again this weekend and added airport pickup for my friend.

Throughout the entire process I was dealing with a complete stranger, but as already stated Jing's patience with my friend's ever changing requirements was exemplary, and it was more like dealing with an old friend than a hotel.

If the accomodation matches my experience so far, my friend is going to have a great Christmas and New Year break.

I here that there is a new hotel next door to Jings, any idea of the name, rates, quality etc

Jings is very laid back(just like the staff there)they are also good for a joke and a laugh.Also security is good at nite and rooms cleaned every day!Very central to every thing and didn't really find it that noisy at nite ,as out most of the time any way!Don't know about a new place opening next door,but a french guy Roland runs a good bar 2 doors down and has 4 hour happy hours...beers 50 baht!

Because Jings is fully booked when I am in town Peter made enquiries next door but they are also fully booked.
I have sent an email to El Murphys but am still awaiting a reply.

Thipurai have vacancies but I would rather pay less than 1K rather than more.

You could always just lob up to a few places and chance it I suppose,but over the Xmas period most places will want to make up for the last 6 months and try and make a quid,so rates will naturally be higher!

If you're struggling to find somewhere, check out Top Marks at the very end of Poonsuk road.

They have decent rooms at fair prices, in easy walking distance of the action.

Is Jings still recommended? Would it be ok for a lone male traveler not looking to bring back company? Easy to misinterpret the acronyms though, which is why they shouldn't be used really, unless they are the very obvious ones.

Haha, I figured that.. I just wanted to check that I wouldn't be the only person having breakfast alone! The only reason I thought I needed to ask was the acronyms in that thread then the suggestion the topic be moved to the adult forum which I can't access (I must admit I am curious).
