Drive towards Cha Am - about 15km you will see an old plane in the army camp and a small yellow building - thats the best range. Its army run and they give good instruction.
have fun! :thumb:

The other one is hard to find and is up in the hills above the Bofai village. It is also good and has instruction. I haven't been there in a while but if you can find the right bridge to cross the canal then there are signs with a pistol and a little target leading the way at every turn after that.

Maybe someone who lives in that end of town (I live in the south end near Takiab) can give you specific directions.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Went to the Bo fai range aa long time ago and i think the Army is is much better - the weapons are newer and better maintained and i think its more safely managed.

Are you allowed to fire anything interesting at either range? Or is it just the usual shotgun and pistol stuff?

JW once showed me a movie clip on a mobile-phone of someone firing a Heckler sub-machins gun at the range on the way to Cha Am and it does look fun if you're into that kind of thing.

Thanks for your help we had a great time................

I know some people may have the opinion that why would you want to encourage a 14 year old boy to use a gun but his dream is to go to army collage and to have a carier in the army, so i look upon this as constructive.

My wife asked a bart bus driver to take us to the range discribed by JW he had no idea so my wife found this other bus said where we wanted to go so we set off the driver then turned into soi 6 so my wife banged on the roof and told him that he was going to the wrong one, then my wife asked a copper and they were both adament there was only one shooting range.
So we set off up soi 6 to this very run down shooting range.

The lady come out of the office to greet us and told my wife that they only had one type of gun for hire a Kelsey 45 and the cost was 1500 baht with 50 bullets and if we wanted another 50 the cost would be 600 baht.

Three off duty soldiers came out and gave my wife and stepson an induction on how to hold stand and fire the gun, my wife wanted to go first, so she fired the gun and hit the centre of the targer bang on the heart, all the soldiers started laughing and one said "very good you not have mai noi" :D

Dont you just hate it when your mrs is better than you at doing lads activity's.

The lad really enjoyed learning from the soldier and shooting the targets.

We all enjoyed the experiance and think for three people to have an hour of fun it was worth 1500 baht.

Kendo.

Good god Ken never let Linnie get a gun or you are stuffed mate.

Its a good idea to get your kid to learn properly - that way he learns guns kill and arent toys.

The place over the canal seems worth it.

The place up towards Chaam (I always recognise it by the big old police cargo plane alongside) Seems to be a rip-off price-wise...

Better to have a gun and not need it... You all know the rest :)
