Ive been doing this game for 10 years here 16 hour days and all that. For the last year I have been answering the question to people who want to buy a bar with don't.
I have seen people come here with 60 grand lucky to get out with 10 after 6 months and that was in the good times. There is so many bars for sale now and they are for sale for mainly one reason-failure.
But if you really want a bar now is the time to buy so you get a highish season.
The only people not losing here are the landlords with every new owner they get higher rents and more keymoney.
I'm sorry but i have to ask. What kind of person has 60 grand! just laying around to spend on whatever?
The only people that i can think of that might have 60 grand just laying around are medical doctors and lawyers, but i can't imagine why a medical doctor or a lawyer would want to buy a beer bar and become a pimp. Big Drug Dealers would probably have 60 grand just laying around though.

I'd have to ask what sort of person would pack in their career, uproot and emigrate the other side of the world with the plan of starting a business without that level of dough behind them??

Example: 1.2M Key money, 300k fit-out & stock, 540k 3 years rent, 800k vehicle, 100k 3 years accountant/visa/WP = 55 grand.

Some make it work so the about costs are covered, some unfortunately don't and have to sell it off cheap or worse hand the keys in.

I think you must have missed a ZERO if you think £60K is so much and the sole domain of lawyers and such like.

Maybe you might need 100k these days - inflation and all that.
And I suppose that's GBP, not USD or THB
