Has any body any experience in this field. I currently use a composite video signal and RF for Audio.
I now have a Sony integrated system that only has a MD video output (whatever the F*** that is). It has either been imported from some backward country that do not use Karaoke or the MD video can be someway connected to the TV with a special lead either to RF composite, RGB or even S- Video. The output is a DIN connector (seven pin I think).
BTW if anybody has a decent VCD player to sell I would be interested. All I have seen in Hua Hin so far is a pile of Kee Kwai.

Connecting Amps to TVs and PCs

Not sure about video cameras but I have a rather simple system with the amp, TV and computer all rigged up so I can watch VCDs or DVDs from the PC on the TV with the amp powering the sound.
You need a graphics card with TV out, soundcard, amp, speakers, TV and DVD drive.

Thanks guys. I had not thought of mini discs which of course are Sony.
To be a bit more specific I have an intergrated home hi-fi system (for want of a better description). The girls always want warch the VCDs rather than just listen to the music. I am sure ther are plenty of better ways of doing what I want if I use the PC but I was just trying to make things simple.
What kind of output signal goes to the Mini Disc?
The physical interface is twin RCA. and there is definitely the word video on it. I suppose it is possible that we have a Y and C video output along with standard L/R sound.
I may be able to convert the signal to S-Video with a simple peice of kit and then reconvert to composite but that all sounds a bit Mickey Mouse to me.
Every time you convert you loose something.
Looks like it's time for a re-design of the complete system.
Life would have been a lot easier if my PC H/W fitter did not join mains cables together with sticky tape and then lay them in a pool of water begund the fridge.

Hi Guess.
The signals are 1's and 0's. Digital signals.
If your tv is equipped with S-video input connector then you should be able to connect your recorder directly to the tv. (That is composite video signals).
Don't you have a cable for this?
I thought that was enclosed when you bought your camera?
