Some Thankyous

Post by JW »

Lastnight was agreat success, i am sure that all who came had a great time.
The night was, for me, about couple of things. Firstly celebrating the work and dedication to the HHAD site put in by all of the moderators, sponsors and users. It was also really cool to meet many new people and put some faces to names! Big thanks to Buksi et all for organising the event.
The early idea of free beer was shelved in favour of donating the proceeds to HHDRC. Everyone was more than happy with this, at the end of the kegs we had raised 7840 baht. I would particularly like to thank Ken from Crawfords who paid for one of the kegs, he threw aside his scottish heritage (many people say the scots are very stingy - personally i tyhink thats bollocks), not only did he buy the keg, (for the record his bill had about 15 beers on it) but he also topped up the money raised to 10000 baht. Ken, your a star! Everyone donated to the cause, notables being Dave from Hua Hin Ham and Bacon, VincentD from Singapore and the guys from Asia times. If i missed anyone there apologies but i was a little drunk by then.
Thanks also to AJ and the girls who worked very hard through the day and night to try and make sure everyone had a full glass ( you dont realise who hard it is to blow up over 70 balloons!!).
My personal thanks to Dr Dave and Matt for playing great music all night. Wilson Pickett had a little send off, which was great, but the guys came up with track after track of great music which enetertained everyone - good job fellas.
A huge thankyou to all those who cooked for the event, Oe still makes a mean Indian style curry, Kims Kitchen brought some lovely grub, and whoever it was that made the bolognaise sauce i want the recipe!
Last but not least thanks to all who came - you cant have a part without the people. Thanks to all who came and got drunk!

Big thanks to Dr Davew and MAtt L for the music on Saturday, a nice blend of many types of music well put together. If there is demand among the locals here let it be known and we can arrange to put on a chaep beer night with tunes and food. It was great to see many new faces and also good to see people having big fun.
