Songkran Holiday is 13-15th April 2010

Samut Prakarn, just South East of BKK always traditionally celebrates Songkran one week later. Next Year it is 18-19 in Samut Prakarn, I do not know if any other provinces celelbrate at a different time, but I don't think so

Yeah, they do and it makes things confusing. Just considering the eastern seaboard; Naklua, Pattaya, Sattahip, Ban Chang and Rayong all have their local water throwing events on different days and many times up to 10 days after the official national dates.

If I recall correctly what was posted here the past two years for Hua Hin, they seem to stay pretty much on the official, national schedule. Pete

You haven't quite got it, telexs - songkran can last several days in some places, but usually at least two days in most. I'd suggest you google and wiki songkran and get some background!

(Loy Kratong, on the other hand... :D )

I think I see where the confusion might be... When I said "2/11" I was, as we all now know, referring to Loy Kratong and meant 2nd Novemeber (being British and knowing that the day always comes before the month  ). Songkran begins on 13th April, though there will probably be plenty of water around on 12th.

Having been through that particular mill (Songkran) a few times, I now avoid it like the plague, but it certainly has to be experienced at least once. Enjoy!
