Pest Control System

Post by JimmyGreaves »

Anyone got any contact details of companies in Hua Hin/Cha am/Pranburi areas who do a pest control system at build time as per these images:

Shows pipes around the house columns that release chemicals

Shows entry point where the chemicals are loaded every 6months or yearly

We have the same thing here at our house in Rayong but so far I have mixed feelings. We've already had a termite problem. However this type of problem the in-ground tubing and gas may not be able to help.

All of our utilities are underground. The termites followed that corridor right into the house where all the wiring comes in from the meter box on the street to the circuit breaker box. A termite highway so to speak. They got some of the wood molding in the small room under the steps where the circuit breaker box is located, and also ate some cardboard boxes. We got rid of them but again, the tubing/gas system is not going to keep them from using this route again.

If you have underground utilities like that, keep a close eye on that access route and spray the ground like crazy each month right where the electrical conduit enters the house. Pete

I would have thought in this case the conduit needs stuffing at both ends with something that the termites do not like. Will investigate this as I plan to have underground electrics.

No, they're not in the conduit Jimmy but traveling alongside of it, and once reaching the house, getting in through some small cracks. We're doing our best to seal everything up but the area in question is underground where it enters the house and tough to dig up, seal or whatever. Our monthly spray guy now inserts a rod in the area down about a foot and injects a bait powder and/or spray. Pete

What are the doc's with this, also the guarantee?

Could you list the pest control details.

I would like to get this sorted before I go, this sounds too cheap, currently I am paying 6000 baht for 1 year with monthly visits.

We use the above company (Steve at Eco-Friendly Pest Control) to spray our big timber boat ("The Peacock") and he's always been very reliable and efficient.

Sorry this is so late, I have only just noticed the questions!!!.
The 6000 included pipework put into house whist in construction stage, a visit every 4 months or more if reqested for 3 years.

We have now upgraded to every month visit including spraying for ants , mozzies, roaches etc. This includes all garden and internal areas, 4600 per year.

tel 032534713.

hope this helps .
