Relocation to Hua Hin

Post by ashawyer »

Hello All,

My wife and myself are relocating to Hua Hin after 'trying' 2 years back in the UK. Before that we lived on Koh Tao where i was working as a Videographer (diving)

We are looking to move in a few months and there are some basis questions i have. My wife is Thai so many of the things we are ok with, but i am going to be working from home in Hua Hin so i need the best possible Internet Connection...

We are looking to rent a nice house (swimming pool a must) near town and preferably near a beach.

So this is me, my name is Adam and i look forward to speaking to people here and i am very excited to move back to Thailand after giving the UK another go.

Thanks

Adam

Welcome to the forum Adam. Whilst I can't answer your questions personally, you are certainly in the right place to get the answers.

You will find a lot of information for question 1 in the Digital Realm http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/di ... m-f15.html. It might also be worth looking here http://www.expathuahin.com/internet-huahin.php.

For question 2 have a look around the Property & Real Estate forum http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/pr ... e-f20.html. You can also look here http://www.huahinafterdark.com/hua-hin- ... r-rent.htm or here http://property.huahinafterdark.com/pro ... pe=H&for=R
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Welcome Adam,

I was an amateur underwater still photographer for twenty years. I am very interested in what the diving is like around Koh Tao but have never been there. Are any of your videos on the web for public viewing?

Welcome to the community.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Hi and welcome Adam

I've been using IP Star for over two years now without any problems at all but it is a little pricey (2000 per month)

As far as renting is concerned....... There's a house in the same soi where I stay which gets rented out. There is someone in there at the moments but their own place is just about finished so the place will be available soon. It has a nice size pool, UBC, broadband internet, etc, etc. Unfortunately though, I have no idea what the rent is but I could find out if you're interested.

Before anyone starts asking questions..................no, I have no connection at all. The home is owned by a Swedish familly and the owners brother stays here in Hua Hin and it is he who rents it out on behalf of his sister.

PS.......not too far from the beach either.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact

I've been using IP Star for over one year (installed by TOT). But at least ten times a day the connection is lost. I pay 1605 Baht for 256 kb/s, but for oversea-pages I have mostly about 50kb/s. So I am not satisfied at all. The broadband connection in Hua Hin (512 kb/s for 1180 Baht) was much more reliable and faster.
