I think there are 3 ways to go with a bar in LOS. Either sports (TV footie, pool, darts etc.) or the big Tourist thing, or somewhere inbetween and quieter for the expats and older tourists.
Poolsuk has gone down the Tourist trap route. But contrary to what News believes, London Bar and P&Ps weren't there before Lucky Lukes. In fact they are relative newcomers by comparison. LL's has been there for at least 9 years. Maybe more. OK under different managements over the years, but has always had issues of one sort or another. At one point it was thought to have been the main cause of a clampdown on closing times in that area, with consideration for the monks being cited as the reason. Similarly the outdoor eateries were also tidied up and controlled using the Wat as a reason.
Quite how the present owner of LLs gets away with it is a mystery, given the history of Poolsuk. But also, given the history of LLs, maybe he isn't the owner at all. Just thinks he is
