I would urge everyone to check out 'Hayseed Dixie'.
My 18 year old son who is into everything that sounds horrible actually liked them. He was scrolling up and down the listings on YouTube listening to the various covers.

one of thei albums is a mad "lounge" album that sounds like Merv and the Magictones..... a great version of Paradise City.....

If you like cover bands that adapt others songs in new ways check out Nouvelle Vague who do sort of laid back samba versions of stuff like Bauhaus, and Dynamo's Rythm Aces from Bristol who do big band rockabilly versions of stuff like Ian Dury, The Who and rap music.

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

continuing the theme of unusual cover bands.

check out this lot, 'the ukulele orchestra of great britain', especially this cover of Nirvana's 'smells like teen spirit' ,it's certainly different  but entertaining :thumb:

I downloaded five albums with Hayseed Dixie and to me they sound like a show band that should be seen and listen to live. Not really my cup of tea.

Its a band of Polio sufferers, Paraplegics and street kids that live rough around Kinashasa zoo in the Congo.

Especially look out for a young kid by the name of Roger Landu who built his one one stringed guitar out of some wire and a milk can...!!!

Aparently they are already have a very sucsessfull CD out on the market. Good on them I say. Top music...

A bit of new music to make this thread at least a bit current.

Recently downloaded the new Album which is out next week and it's outstanding, as was the first Album.

It's new material so not much on youtube yet.

GOD MACHINE

"Tales from the Seventh Story"

Probably one of the greatest of the new wave bands..... now defunct after the bass player died.

Catch their best track - Home - here

still has one of my favorite lines: "Jesus Made Her Do It"

The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain.

Yeh, I know it sounds boring, but boring it isn't. Just download them performing for the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and you'll see what I mean. Their version of 'Psycho Killer' is superb.

Blimey, the audience even brought in their ukeleles to join in! Heck it sounds like a fantastic night. :D
