Jockey, great performance and result v Dinamo Moscow. Let's hope we get a decent draw today.

Knock knock.
Who's there?
Jockey.
Nope, don't think so...

Sorry, Tam, but Jockey hasn't been around for a while. Not as Jockey, anyway.

What's wrong with that? It will an easy win for Arsenal, or are you a Celtic fan by the way?

You're probably wrong. This'll be another chance for the Celtic players to showcase themselves with real top notch football clubs. The Celtic players will be giving it 150%, while the Arsenal players will probably feel Celtic are several leagues below them. Wenger will have a hard job getting his team to give more than 50% against lowly opposition.

It's a fact that the Scottish Premiership equates no better than the English Championship. As an example, my team Plymouth have a bunch of bad boys who they're desperate to get rid of. 3 of them were offered positions at Scottish Premiership teams (Aberdeen and Hearts) - they couldn't agree terms, preferring to play for Plymouth Reserves. Aberdeen and Plymouth were trying to sign a player (Johnson) from the French league - no competition, Plymouth got their man. At the end of the day, Plymouth are amongst the favourites for League 1 football next season.

I know it's the best the Scots have, but it's no better than English Championship/League 1 standard.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

What's wrong? Nothing.

Tam was hoping for a decent draw and Celtic got the worst draw they could have possibly hoped for, Arsenal.

I found it highly amusing. Image

it's gonna be a tough 2 games for the reasons you state but i doubt wenger or the players will be underestimating celtic & taking things easy :?
remember this is a c/l qualifier, not a pre season friendly!!!!!

Thanks for all your comments.

Big Boy, I saw your team last season and watched several Championship games - when was the last time you attended a Celtic game?

As in the past, I shall let my team do the talking on the park on these occasions. Just a shame I am not back home for this one, but will catch up in September.

Should be a great tie for true football fans.

Hail! Hail!

 It was a few years ago - Motherwell 2 - 2 Celtic. I actually had to go twice - it was rained off the first day.

Would just like to point out that Celtic are a very strong team at home, especially in Europe. They beat AC MIlan 2 years ago, drew at home with Man United last year. Beat Villarreal. With the home leg first, if they get a win at Parkhead, they have a very good chance of going through.

Arsenal struggled at home last year and had a lot of 1-0's. They have since weakened there team and if they lose the first leg, they have injuries too, they can be taken out if Celtic play as well as they did in Russia.

Don't get me wrong, I know Arsenal are still favaourites, but there is a good chance for Celtic there to take the initiative!!

But of course and that is the beauty of the football game. A friend of mine, once a star in the Swedish national team and a pro in Serie A, said to me that 10% of the games you win whichever you play; 10% you loose, while at 80% of the games you have to fight to win and rather often motivation beats class.

Hmmm ........... losing 2 - 0 where they are strongest. It doesn't bode well for the 2nd leg. Looks like another season in the loser's cup for Celtic.

Shame really - as a life-long neutral (Plymouth will never get there in my lifetime) I like to see as many British teams in the competition as possible. A very unfortunate draw.

Being an Arsenal fan I am quite content with the result of yesterday's game at Glasgow.

Arsenal is through with a 5 - 1 win on aggregate over Celtic. Fábregas was already out and Wenger rested Arsjavin and van Persie too. :D
