Water Clarity

Not sure where to put this question, but since I'm asking due to Hua Hin's "brown water" I figure south is a good place.

I like scuba diving, and skin diving, and have learned from Buksida, and others, some good places south of town.

But, I'm wondering how far south until the water clears up? I like looking over the blue waters.

I've been to Chumphon (Sairee Beach) and the water was clearer, but only spent a day so don't know if that's a good, or bad, day.
