Be a witch for £50k

Post by Khundon1975 »

Would you paint your face green and wear a silly hat for £50k a year?

Well KD, if I was into that sort of stuff then 50K sterling a year is a decent salary to say the least, that's 4166.666K a month, .

For that, well, there's a lot of latitude for that, even making a fool of yourself. The last laugh would be with you.

Bisarrely well paid job!

What is odd is that they stipulate that they want a "Witch" but UK law says they cannot specify that a woman is wanted for the position so it has to be open to males, which, incidently, is a "Warlock".

Why don't they advertise for a "magical haggard entity" then? What a load of bollocks!

Man, I'm glad I don't live there anymore.

"This was when an old woman lived in the caves with some goats and a dog, causing a variety of social ills, including crop failures and disease."
sounds like she was an expert at bio-terrorism.....so I guess applications from wannabe Chemical Ali's are acceptable....
"Interviews, which will involve on-site assessment incorporating a range of standard tasks, will take place on 28 July at 1100, stipulates the advert."

This is what they need, can't find a link to video, only on CD

Blackadder: Witchsmeller Pursuivant

The Episode:
It is a time of plague and omens in the kingdom. In this atmosphere of paranoia, the Witchsmeller Pursuivant is called to court, to sniff out the chief witch and bring an end to the country's bad luck.

Inconveniently, the Witchsmeller decides that Edmund is the Chief Witch, and that Percy and Baldrick have something a bit witchy about them, too.

Review:
A marvellous episode, with a strong script and a superb performance by Frank Finlay as the Witchsmeller. Elements of the kangaroo court, public hysteria and the misuse of power are combined with a little bit of witchcraft to provide Edmund with his closest shave so far.

Baldrick's Cunning Plan is tested to destruction, while Percy's mourning the witch's cat is a moment of pathos we needed at that time.

I loved their logic at the time, tie up a "witch" throw her into the lake, if she sinks and drowns, she is innocent if she floats, she is guilty.
BURN THE WITCH but dry her out first

Don't forget the job is seasonal, and you'd only get a few weeks wages every year. The rate quted is what you'd get if you were employed all 52 weeks of the year.
