After doing a bit of reading on the subject of apple cider vinegar, I can't actually work out what is in it that is supposed to be benificial that can't be found in either the apple or normal apple juice.
When it comes to claimed effects against Diabetes the websites I found put that down to the pectin content of the vinegar, but you would get far more of that from eating an apple (which Mr.P admitted earlier.)

It's worse than that. I found it very unsettling that the nutrient label on the bottle contained all zeros for everything.... kinda like drinking sour water, but I gave it a try anyway because of all the positive stories from users and the cost of my meds. After doing a bit of reading on the subject of apple cider vinegar, I can't actually work out what is in it that is supposed to be benificial that can't be found in either the apple or normal apple juice.

ACV ??
Richard I must agree with you. . .and with CharlesH too.
Mr Plum has added SO much to the HHAD forums and provided me with many interesting ideas and suggestions and introduced various topics that were new to me. I sincerely hope he reconsiders.
But I have also been around HHAD long enough to see many of the forums I have followed with interest and really enjoyed reading just go to hell with petty squabbles and supposedly witty . ..completely off topic posts. A couple I have started have met this fate.
And just look where this has ended up . . .what ever happened to ACV??
EDIT!
Whoops! ACV is back! Two posts made since I opened the box to start mine. (CPR on a dying thread.)

Have researched and as point out by you and Steve g you may as well eat an apple. So why do you need ACV qed

Mr P recommended a black substance excreted from rocks in the himilayas as a remedy for my penile disfunction (plus other services)"
You have informed us what you do is not dangerous
Read sergeants posts and my concerns are justified.

Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.
Aboriginal elders in the old days apparently used to insert a smooth round stone into the penis of those who strayed of the straight and narrow - actually led to penile dysfunction on those so treated. They probably had the symptoms of a heart attack too when the base of the penis was cut open with a sharp stone/quartz shard. Don't remember anything about a black excretion though. Could have been congealed blood possibly! (Whistlecocking - lesson 1).

Sarge. You have said that you are crying all the time so your feelings are likely to be very much on the surface. It is for this reason more than any other that I think a time out is called for. I know you are a larger than life character but having had 3 heart attacks why would you wish to engage in 'argie-bargie' on the forum?sargeant wrote:quote Mr P.
"He's clearly not familiar with the remedy but that's his problem and not mine."
Typical backsliding answer but here is the kicker he WAS clearly and totally aware of my condition and my medical history
you patently were NOT even interested let alone aware having made absolutely NO NIL enquiries or examinations on my condition or historyand yet you made recommendations anyway (note plural) (that makes you dangerous)
It's wonderful that he knows your complete history and I'm not surprised your Doctor would not recommend something like Viagra. But why would I wish to discuss the history of someone who made it quite clear they were not going to change their lifestyle? There is no point.
I am not qualified to conduct any examination and I'm not sure where you got the idea that I would do any such thing. I can offer a perspective, based on Ayurvedic concepts of 'Type' which is usually interesting to those who have never heard of this before. My father died of a heart attack so I'm no stranger to it and he died because of his lifestyle. Drinking, smoking, a poor diet and lack of exercise. This is not controversial. Had he actually heeded his Doctor's advice he might have lived longer.
It's your life and you can do what the hell you want. That goes for all of us. IMO the only thing that matters is that we are happy. Taking someone's genuine compassion and turning it into something 'dangerous' is pretty low I have to say. What's with you guys? You all meeting for coffee, plotting the demise of the 'evil' MrPlum?

I do not wish you ill. I only wish you well. I'm sure everyone on the board feels the same way.

Ok, since I started this thread, I feel somewhat responsible for the discourse that has gone on within it.
First of all, one's health choices are up to them. No one is forcing anyone to try anything. While I don't always agree with MrPlum's suggestions, especially when he was railing against traditional doctors or pharmaceuticals, I respect his right to offer alternative ideas that may help some people. It is up to each individual to research the suggestions, weigh the risks vs. reward, and decide on a course of action as I did with my three month ACV vs. pharmaceuticals test.
This is (as far as I know) within reason, a free speech forum and advice can be offered but does not have to be accepted. I'm sure MrPlum means well and is only trying to help people that are receptive to his advice.
While I have poked fun at him and some of his advice many times, I still believe that he has as much right as any of us to offer advice here, whether about health or anything else.

Mr P
I'm a skeptic, but I will always read what you have to say on herbal remedies and will make up my own mind.
As an adult, my decision will be based on my own research on the subject under discussion, but I value the links you post to various studies that have been made.
If I don't agree with you I will say so (without flaming) and hope that we can agree to disagree on some subjects, whilst agreeing on others.
Keep em coming.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
And with all his research he has NOT recommended a single Thai/herbal/alternative doctor or office doing this in open view to the public and expat community
either there arent any or there is another reason for failing to inform you all of where to find people with more experience than his good self
At this time i have a sleeping problem any ideas on a herbal remedy so i go to sleep and dont wake up
I am a bit worried about the side effects of all my sleeping pills and beta blockers

No herbal remedy from me Sarge, but I suffer from same time to time so just my tips.sargeant wrote:.....At this time i have a sleeping problem any ideas on a herbal remedy so i go to sleep and dont wake up

- If you take a mid-day nap, stop.
- Don't drink heavily (I know you now don't)
- Eat a good dinner but don't go to sleep until at least 3 hours after. Too soon and sleep will indeed come quickly but you'll wake up in a few hours because the food is still churning in your gut.
- Try to get some physical exercise each day.
- Try to empty your mind as soon as you lay down, focus on absolutely nothing, literally stop thinking. I know difficult under your current personal circumstances, but this factor could be the primary cause of the sleep problem for you right now.
I've never taken sleeping pills except as given while in the hospital years ago. I try to implement all of the above and they work. Good luck. Pete
