Valencia joins Man Utd from Wigan

Seems to me to be far from a prolific goal scorer? Pete

A good winger who had some excellent games for Wigan :| but not a patch on Ronaldo and not a goalgetter :|

To me he is more of a replacement for Giggs :|

Bolton sign Davis from Portsmouth

Davis joined Portsmouth from Tottenham in January 2006
Bolton have signed Sean Davis on a free transfer - six months after Portsmouth rejected their £3.5m bid for the former England under-21 midfield man.
The 29-year-old moves to Bolton on a three-year contract after his Fratton Park deal expired.
Bolton boss Gary Megson said: "Sean made 40 appearances last season and he will strengthen our midfield.
"We wanted to bring him to the Reebok in January but our bid of £3.5m was turned down by Portsmouth."
Megson added: "We are delighted to have signed such an experienced Premier League footballer.
London-born Davis has made nearly 200 top-flight appearances with Fulham, Tottenham and Portsmouth. He won 12 England under-21 international caps between 2000 and 2002.
"I am happy my future has been sorted out," he told www.bwfc.co.uk. "I wanted to move to a club where I can play my football and be appreciated.
"Bolton showed genuine interest in January and that was hugely encouraging. It is an exciting opportunity not just for me but my family as well. I want to enjoy my football and take the club forward."
Meanwhile, Noe Pamarot, lauren, Glen Little, Djimi Traore and Jerome Thomas have all been released by Pompey while Kanu is considering a new contract after his expired and former England defender Sol Campbell could also discuss a further deal with the club.

Real Madrid close in on Benzema

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 129462.stm

Looks like ManUre have lost out on another star player....Real Madrid are snapping up the top boys and leaving ManUre to sign players like Valencia

The question now is where will David Villa go ? He wanted to stay in Spain but if Benzema goes to Madrid and Eto stays at BarC then will Villa be on his way to M City or Chelski ?? :|

I'll bet it was a difficult decision, Fletcher and Carrick or Kaka and Ronaldo creating chances for you.

Chelsea bring in keeper Turnbull

Turnbull made his debut for Middlesbrough in 2006.

Chelsea have boosted their squad's goalkeeping strength by signing Middlesbrough keeper Ross Turnbull.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal after joining on a free transfer.
Along with the 33-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper Hilario, Turnbull will act as an understudy to the club's first-choice keeper Petr Cech.
While Turnbull finalised his move to London, Hilario has signed a new two-year contract with the Blues, a deal that runs until 2011.
Turnbull made his debut for Boro in May 2006 in the 1-1 draw against Bolton, going on to make 29 appearances for the club.

During his time with Boro, Turnbull went out on loan to Darlington, Barnsley, Bradford, Crewe and Cardiff.
His chance to stake a claim for a regular place came after Mark Schwarzer's move to Fulham last summer, but Turnbull was eventually displaced by Brad Jones.

Yes :D , I'm compiling all the reference material I possibly can in one place for the benefit of all. The truth however is to make a place for me to come back to and try to figure out how all these grand moves and my research won't make any difference whatsoever in improving my IKTS upcoming performance. :banghead:  Pete

I think Owen is only likely to be the fourth choice striker behind Rooney,Berbatov and another new signing (one of the three forwards from Valencia or Huntelaar from Real Madrid, maybe).
True,he's a bit of a gamble but if United can keep him fit and with the World Cup Finals next year as an incentive, you never know.....

But if United are looking thin on the ground for strikers what about Liverpool ?One of the reasons they lost the title last year was because they never replaced Robbie Keane and when Torres was injured they only had Babel and Ngog to fall back on.
Up to now Liverpool have only signed the full back,Glen Johnson, and he's not going to grab many goals !
Liverpool are probably in the running for one of the Valencia strikers but so too are Real Madrid,Barcelona and United.

Sunderland seal Campbell capture

Striker Fraizer Campbell has completed his £3.5m move from Manchester United to Sunderland after signing a four-year contract with the Wearsiders.
The deal for the 21-year-old forward, who was also wanted by Hull manager Phil Brown, could rise to £6m.
He passed a medical on Saturday to become Steve Bruce's first signing.
Campbell had a loan spell with Hull during the 2007-08 campaign, when he scored 15 goals, and spent much of last season at Tottenham.
He made just one league start for Spurs but played a part in helping them get to the Carling Cup final, although he was ineligible to play against United in the final.
The England Under-21 international came through United's academy set up and made his debut for the first team when he came off the bench against Manchester rivals City in August 2007.
His only Premier League start for the Old Trafford club came against Newcastle at the start of last season.

Sunderland boss Bruce is expected to spend big this summer, with the promised backing of millionaire owner Ellis Short convincing him to leave Wigan to take over as boss at the Stadium of Light.
Bruce failed with a bid for Wigan midfielder Lee Catermole on Friday and has been linked with Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch and Tottenham forward Darren Bent.
With the club deciding against a move for Djibril Cisse, following the end of his loan spell, and allowing Michael Chopra to join Cardiff, the forward position was one area Bruce has been looking to strengthen.
