Agree, but there are a few exceptions like Zu in Shangri-la Manila, best club I've been to in Asia.

I’ve been to a few good clubs in 5 star hotels, but they have generally been in cities where nightlife is a bit of a struggle.
There were a couple of good ones in Jakarta and Surabaya, Indonesia and I think the main reason for their success was that many visitors to those cities are a bit wary of wandering about the local bar and club scene.

If they didn't it wouldn't be much of a place.

Haven't been so might be wrong but I don't think it's proper 'dance club' despite the '80's DJ', or should I say because of the '80's DJ'. It's doubles up as one of their restaurants too serving food from 9pm.
Seating around the edge of the dance floor and closing at 1am tells me it won't work as a full on club, looks more like a nice upmarket alternative venue for those wanting to give their best clothes an airing and have a different night out.

@Blacks own write up:
@Black Night Club is the newest nightspot in Hua Hin. It is an alternative place to hang out both for us locals or for you passing though town. @Black offers a pleasurable atmosphere with its high ceiling and mezzanine floor. The design is modern with elegant chandelier, and undulating coloured lights. The disco ball like clad columns and the black marble floors will make the guests feel like they enter a completely new private space. You can choose to sit around the dance floor on the comfortable sofas scattered though out the club. There is a choice of light snacks, signature cocktails, beers, spirits and premium wine from “Starwood’s Wine of the World Collection”. Every Friday and Saturday night, a live DJ will play the popular 80's music through the most advanced technology of sound system. @BLACK is open on Friday and Saturday 9:00 pm to 1:00 am.

Looks like a disco circa late 1970's. Retro must be the latest thing - will we see Travolta strutting his stuff? :roll:

Has anyone been to this club? If so can you tell me roughly how many customers there were and is it more like a restaurant / nightclub? Do the customers dance?
