You lucky Devil.

I got wasted in UK 2 nights ago but it's not the same.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
havent been on hhad for a while or just didn't notice this thread.
It has passed my sunday evening very pleasently in sunny ireland and now i've had my fish and chips and am ready for the pub.
I wandered out of limelight a few years ago and spotted El Murphys, brought herself there that night, the welcome was subdued alright, but they talked back when i talked to the guy, and were friendly, they looked like they had been busy, i know the feeling I've been chefing for years.
But the one thing struck me most was the subdued welcome, it was a welcome refresh after the cat calls along bintabaht, (hey you mister...) or the menu in your face on the street along narisdarmi (i think).
the name confused me, but when i got in, saw the place, had a cold beer, wife liked the fact there was aircon, i am irish so love the chance to sit in evening heat and downn cold beer, but sit inside to keep her happy, (she has one baileys to my 10 or 12 botles).
dont remember ever eating, i think she had something thai cooked for her, could be mistaken, but the bar is beautiful, staff professional, in a western sense, i.e. not waiting like a dog at the side of the table but reacting when i sit my empty bottle to one side.
I really like the place, like crawfords to, but it is rather undermanaged at times. Really miss going for a burger and chips in the roadhole, had to explain to the girl how to pour guinness when it arrived at first there.
On some earlier posts,
we dont have irish bars in ireland, just pubs and bars,
politics may not be disscussed, but since the proprietor is the local town councillor usually, it is talked about,
Religon is a big no.no, unless someone makes a joke about there own, then it free for all.
music is acceptable, but only if we dont end u paying for it,
to quote my good neighbour roy
I'll pay for drink but not to get at it.
food is not served in a pub, but the barman/girl will get you something in the chinese when taking the slips to the bookies before a race. (as supermarkets have removed the old bar/shop/undertaker combo, they have mysteriously been replaced with bar, bookie, chinese restaurant).
ok i better go drink some beer and stop talking about it
