Any reports on this hotel...Seems (?) to be closer to the action. I have not info but I have seen mostly negative reprorts on the Cityu Beach as to security and housekeeping issues!

Thipurai City

I ahev stayed at both places you mentioned. I found the rooms at City Beach were better than Thipurai City. I also considered the City Beach location to be slightly more convenient.

I just dug out the brochure i took away with me when i stayed there for 2 nights, Its Thai/Swedish probably the reason for Nordic people, Not that it means anythings, We're all farang over there.

It was ok, Clean, Pleasant staff, Basic brekky Nothing too fancy, No room safe. Better places to stay for the money. I think it was 1400 a night in 2006

on the brochure it shows the pool, It took us a day to work out where it was, Not like the nice panoramic view in the picture!.

I stayed at the Thipurai for 4 nights over the end of 2008 start of 2009.

My room was a late booking. As late as November if I recall. I was surprised there was any availability because when I tried to book in June they were full.

I guess the economic downturn worked in my favour because the Thipurai is my hotel of choice in Hua Hin.

Despite its location in the heart of town the place is very quiet. There is no noise from the nearby bars and the soi outside is so small and narrow that any passing traffic can only move at a snails pace.

I book a standard room which is perfectly adequate for my needs. The room is small but has everything I need. There is even a small balcony. The big plus is that the beds are probably he most comfortable I have slept in in a "budget" hotel.

The whole hotel, lobby, pool, restaurant and room are very clean. The staff are friendly and attentive.

The hotel is guest friendly at no extra charge. The City Beach charges 500 Baht joiner fee.
