To me there is absolutely no contest when it comes to quality of life. Returning to the UK would be a very very last resort. I bought my house here with every expectation it would it would be my home for 30-40 years, nothing that's happened has made me change my mind.

'Investment' can be looked at two ways, raising the quality of my life was my investment.

I can't believe there are that many people who've bought houses here as a serious investment. When I eventually get some land and build a house it will be to have somewhere to live without paying rent and to provide Mrs D-M with some form of security when I pop my clogs.
This is the way

to qualify my remarks about buying a house in the U.K. as regards an investment. it is my opinion that the house that you live in is a home. if it goes up in value, that's great.
i was talking about buying houses as an investment. decent rental return and hopefully capital appreciation.

Hi Miked, Yes i have a good reason why i asked, although i think i will get negative remarks if i say why.

People would need to know me then maybe understand.

Anyway here goes. I have always been a bit of a collector over the last 30yrs.

Some of the things i have collected are teapots. I have a limited adition teapot with a lot of 22ct gold plate, which is in mint condition.

I would like to give to the King for his birthday.

I realise that it is impossible to give it personaly, but i dont want to just hand it over to the palace guards or police at the palace.

No garuntee that he would actualy get it.

Although there must be someone at the palace that i could rely on etc that would make sure he would recieve it.

Not sure if i would get much info etc by asking the gaurds.

I just wanted to know if he was in BKK or Huahin before taking the time to try and get it to him.
