There are many things to do in Hua Hin but if I had to compile a short list of things I would have been sad to have missed it would be as follows...

1. Hin lek fai (viewpoint) This gives you commanding views of the area.

2. Haad sai noi beach - The best beach in the area, but don't tell everyone...

3. Mangrove swamp (pranburi) great boat ride and walk through the mangrove swamps. Boats found on the walk on are really cheap and take you up the river.

4. Night market - Great place to eat and do some shopping.

5. Kings palace (the old wooden one) you will have to ask directions to get there but any tuk tuk driver will know the way.

And then there is - golf, elephant rides, temples, Thai boxing, Terrys fishing lodge, sea boat rides, go kartes and and and...Phew!

sid2827,
While what Randy says is true, it is possible that in your short stay you may not come across the songthaews (converted pick ups) trawling round town blaring out the info about Thai boxing, or the people standing on corners handing out leaflets, so to help you there are two places (that I know of) where you can watch it; the Thai Boxing Garden, tucked away in a little soi smack bang in the centre of town a very short distance from the main bar street Soi Bintabaht - ask anyone and they will direct you; or The Grand, which is a complex of various things including a hotel and a night market situated near the centre of town next to San Paulo Hospital, and they also have a gym where Thai boxing nights are held. One or both of them will have fights on while you are here. Personally i preferred the Grand but both are enjoyable events. I'm sure others can give you up to date prices, times and days if you want them.

nice, thanks for the info. had another quick question, are you allowed to bet on the fights? if not, are there any casinos in thailand? or is it illegal in the country?

Gambling's illegal, but it goes on everywhere. If I were you, I wouldn't get involved.
